The daddy mommy issues are the biggest issues a guy can have. Itv have been showing mls having either of these issues to show them flawed and problematic.

What more do you want other than this? He has a troubled a traumatic past because of his mother, and that his ruined entire childhood because of which he has to live with that baggage and doesn't a moment of peace.

Like u mentioned we have seen this mommy daddy issue upteen number of times!

So, I was hoping for something else or more. For instance, he lived with a step father coz his mom married again and the step father was abusive ! Just an example.

But it hasn't been touched much in ptv, in itv it's very common.

B - Nahh, that would be too traumatic.

I think this one is fine, he had a troubled past because of a woman that is his mom, and he'd redeem himself and come back to normalcy because of his ladylove that is sadaf.

So, after trying so hard to not to give in to all those aesthetically pleasing frames, I finally gave up and watched the first episode (I hate watching on-going dramas, the week-long suspense/ wait is not for me!).

It is too early to talk about the story or the characters or even about the performances, I guess. But overall, everything was good – there are a few things I disliked, but I am going to excuse those considering that it is just the beginning. There are a few things I immensely liked and thought I should pen them down.

The first ‘meet’

This cannot be called as a ‘meet’, but whatever it is! As many have pointed out here, that is not a love-at-first-sight kind of a ‘meet’. That’d be a joke, if anyone’d think that way. Bilal sahab saw (he was literally jolted awake) Sadaf, and was fascinated/ amused, and may be impressed too, by the way she behaved. He noticed her alright, more than noticed her, and checked on her. It can be a strong attraction, but no love. But what I liked the most about this part was how the scene was brought into the screen. Right before showing Sadaf, there is a close up of Bilal, where he took a sip and rested his head back while closing his eyes, and Sadaf was shown – at first her visual is slightly blurred as a dream and then focuses, almost as if she was conjured out of his dreamland, where he closed his eyes with Mirza sahab’s promise of ‘Sambhalunga’. That was beautifully done - Either to show that she is his dream come true or to indicate his inebriated state – either way, I loved that minor detail.

The personality differences

You don’t have to emphasize that Bilal is the ‘antithesis’ to Sadaf, at least their outer characters are polar opposite – that is a given even from the teasers. But I loved and loved the way they showed it in this one particular scene, where there were parallel scenes of Bilal walking away from the podium after addressing his staff and Sadaf enjoying the rain. It was wonderfully presented and enacted. He was walking behind a group of happy audience (after sort of spreading happiness – BTW if there are vacant positions in his company everyone should try, such lucrative offers!), all of their happy faces away from him, he walks alone (with the support of Mr. Mirza) containing his misery to himself, with a melancholic smile that doesn’t reach his eyes (Wahaj was really good here!), while Sadaf’s cheerful self is celebrating the smallest happiness with vigor (though I think Maya slightly overdid the ‘happy’ part!) enjoying the life to the fullest. With the background score, the whole scene was beautifully crafted.

‘Her’ vision

He remembered her ‘vision’- right after he gave Mirza sahab the day off, he stumbled and the jolt brought her memory back – again her visual is slightly blurred, which was beautiful, and he seemed slightly taken back and confused with the resurfacing of her vision in his mind. Definitely strong attraction! Again, with the BG music this scene was stunningly melancholic.

Rest of everything, I am going to wait till I watch the next episode. Overall, it was a good first episode for me.

P.S.

Though I think Bilal most probably will try to stop drinking (based on the scenes of the promo – that dumping of the bottle scene), I hope they give it in a believable way – he is an alcoholic with the complete loss of control over the intake, and that is not something that can be easily overcome!
