Saw the first one.
Honestly not a banger start and a bit underwhelming for me. But I think this is intentional and in keeping with the vibe of the whole show? Instead of crazy twists n turns it’s about presenting a really flawed man and his gradual evolution.
Wahaj was the highlight for me. He showed the right amount of restraint without overdoing it and I loved his scenes with Naamdar Mirza. And the scene with his girlfriend. Love his styling too. You feel his emptiness and his pain. I also love how openly flawed he is with the alcohol and shameless flirting and no concern for societal propriety. I’m glad he’s gonna be quitting the alcohol soon because it really was a lot in the first episode
But Wahaj really nailed this. This is not like anything he’s done before.
The aesthetics are overall very nice however the first encounter was too abrupt and weird. It felt incomplete too since Sadaf didn’t even register him and he was just checking her out. It felt like a cop out when the moment could have been so much more impactful and meaningful. Plus Sadaf ka background kept changing? So the meet cute wasn’t even a proper meet cute but ending up being a bit creepy and random.
The friendship between the 3 was weird wasn’t it? Dania has crazy written all over her face but the 2 friends don’t even think she’s serious? Then Usama’s dance in the library. Nope. Kahan se hai yeh college student? Maya’s forced fake laughs were also too much. Her lines were actually not bad but I couldn’t stand the bubbly acting. Too much.
Humsha is still a mystery. That reel Hira posted was really cute and I’m intrigued by this dynamic. Maybe Bilal Abdullah is the guy Ammar was talking about? That she is heart broken about him?
I also don’t want Naamdaar Mirza to die soon but we know he will. I really enjoyed his scenes with Bilal. Him taking offense under the surface and Bilal trying to be respectful but also omg you’re cute when you pray for me responses
I think Uncle Jee will just convince Sadaf to marry Ammar because he’s getting the vibe that Bilal is fixated on his daughter.
