having different opinions doesn't seems like a strong reason to hate ... atleast his parents do love him ... i am not able to relate with salar ki dukh dard peeda ..

yh writer ne kuch clarity nhi dikhayi h salar ke mamle m , bas yhi bta rhi h ki vo sitara se bhot mohabat krta h 🤷‍♀️

a lot of things do not make sense

Like Saba says Mehreen gave more time and importance to Saba herself over her own child Salar. A person like Mehreen would never do that. She might’ve treated them equally but she it would be more consistent with her character to favor her own child who actually happens to me male. If she was so mahan she wouldn’t have been so petty with Sitara.

Tahir seems like a guy one could mostly reason with. Nani said Mehreen kept him away. But Nani is a strong figure. She could’ve intervened in 25 yrs and maybe she did. Or perhaps Tahir has mellowed down after seeing what a big step Salar took in marrying without consent and he is now also worried about Shadi Shuda beta leaving and not looking back now that he has someone of his own. So he is backing off on his authoritarian nature a bit and trying to see things from their perspective

Raed and Zoya also have really good onscreen chemistry. Like they genuinely can play a couple role. I hope they do in some future drama.

Haven't watched the episode as yet. But one thing I have noticed about the Mehreen-Saba dynamic is that Saba is the more mature one and the listener in the relationship while Mehreen usually keeps telling her her troubles and everything. I have never seen the opposite happen. I am not saying that Mehreen does not love her, she clearly does as she was the one who brought her the baby bag and everything. But I think Mehreen paying Saba more attention has a lot more to do with possibly the fact that Saba probably was always on her best behaviour while Salar must have been a lot more difficult to handle. Like can you imagine that your adoptive step-daughter gets an A at school and is polite and understanding and listens to you and makes you proud socially while the same time, your own biological son is picking up bad company deliberately, getting D at school, has a temper and talks back and keeps picking up god-knows-from-where random animals and brings them and insists on keeping them? I do not think it is inconsistent. One thing Mehreen could have done is become a bad stepmother to Saba and essentially hide Salar's mistakes while throwing Saba under the bus. Stereotypically that should have been the case and partly that is what she did. She hid Salar's mistakes and misdemeanors and essentially Salar grew up with the perception that his dad wants to put a leash on him while Tahir who does crave for his son's love and support still does not trust in his capabilities. Mehreen's affection for Saba, I theorise, has a lot to do with her own perception as a mother. Saba's good behaviour must have been proof to her that at least she is raising one child right, that Salar's waywardness is his inherent nature. Furthermore, someone who is as image conscious as Mehreen must have preferred to be seen as the "mahan" step-mother, one who loves the child despite not being hers biologically, and at the same time, bask in the child's accolades as a good mother. I believe Junaid and Saba must have taken the long courtship way to marriage and Junaid clearly sacrificed a lot of his relationship with his own family in order to stay on the Sikandar's good books. She was making faces when Saba declined to shift back into Sikandar mansion because her in-laws do not feel comfortable there and Saba prefers to raise her son with both sides of the family being present.

Mehreen's hatred for Sitara is not because of Sitara herself. It is because Sitara is everything she dreads. Mehreen already hated Salman and had a personal nickname for him that was "greedy Salman". She used to keep insulting him and his family even before everything happened. Remember she said that Salman ki family Salar ka jutha maang kar khate hai when Salar broke up Sitara's second wedding and returned home? That was such a complete exaggeration and so crude. My firm opinion is that Mehreen saw herself in Salman, a gold-digging social ladder climber, and was determined to weed him out while on the converse, Salar only maintained a "friendship" with Salman because he wanted to irk his mom. Of course, him falling for Sitara practically came out of nowhere and it all escalated very very quickly. Salar's act of marrying Sitara regardless of what his parents might think, say or do, came as a huge shock for her. This was not a small thing. And this girl, instead of being intimated or begging for her acceptance, goes on to absolutely dho dalo her. Remember when Mehreen was calling Saba to come home because Sitara had shown her stars in less than a day? And now very rapidly, Sitara is gaining more importance than her in the household, a place where she was already not pretty relevant. From her POV, Saba who was on her side on the wedding day is now maintaining good relations with Sitara, her husband who she thought will team up with her against Sitara is already capable of having conversations with his DIL and is slowly acknowledging her, her mother prefers Sitara's company to her own and has written off her childhood home to that girl as haq mehr. The sophisticated and high class girl she had chosen as her DIL turned to be her own son's molester and defamer who had also insulted her mother. Salar is a gone case in her eyes as he refuses to listen to anything against his wife and furthermore, Sitara has her own life outside home at university. She is not waiting around at home, wasting money on luxury shopping or doing anything that Mehreen prioritized. In effect, Sitara is the exact opposite of Mehreen despite coming from the same class. So what does she have left? Taunts and snide remarks on Sitara's lower socio-economic origins which are weaker than her own. I have said earlier that Junaid and Mehreen give off upper middle class, wealth adjacent upbringing vibes while Sitara is really middle middles class.

The problem is Mehreen is not realising that she is making the exact same mistake that she did before. She became the wall between Salar and Tahir in order to "protect" Salar and essentially ended up dividing the family (remember the scene where before Salar was going to Canada for the first time, she asked him to come and spend some family time and Salar responded with sarcasm "family time, seriously?" and then she asked if he thinks it is her fault and Salar just ignores her and goes to sleep - I would say yes, it was your fault). And now, she wants to become the wall between Sitara and "her family" in order to protect them from her, but what will now happen is that people will start distancing themselves from her. Eventually Salar and Sitara will move out and probably minimise contact with her. Already, Saba is distancing herself and becoming more busy and more neutral. Tahir anyways ignores her and if SiLaar move out, he will spend even less time at home. Essentially she will be reaping what she is sowing until and unless she genuinely starts making amends. She does not have to be friends with Sitara, she just needs to be neutral to Sitara and that will be enough because that is what Sitara is doing right now for her. It is unfortunate but had Mehreen even given out some scraps of niceness to Sitara, she would have acquired a very loyal and devoted DIL. Sitara did come to her to learn about high society manners and she did take her lessons to heart. If you noticed, Sitara did not sit on the bed when she entered Saba's room but did not sit on the sofa either. Even Saba commented on that. Mehreen could have had a gem but she is choosing to throw that away for pebbles, just like she did with her own son.
