But I’m just here to rant. I haven’t watched Indian shows in 15 years so not sure what goes on there. Have been watching Pakistani shows in the last 5/6 years but my goodness they sorely need good writers. They literally can’t make a show without toxicity. Humsafar- girl ends up with toxic husband. ZGH- girl ends up with misogynistic man although yes he was charming. TB- I was team meerab all the way and writer literally had meerab pine for a man who raped her. Kaffara- Sitara needs therapy. Her behavior is beyond the realm of normal. Her crass language has really touched a nerve for me. There was a show where a mentally challenged man rapes his wife and his grandmother tells the wife to accept it or something like that.

Only Radd and Yunhi were recently acceptable. Radd had non-toxic leads. Yunhi was a great story and concept and well-made. The ending was less than ideal for me but overall still fine.

I think one of the many smart viewers who sometimes write fan fics and is in touch with the pulse of younger audience (who cannot tolerate toxicity or misogyny) really needs to submit a story to one of the bigger production houses and change the norm.

That being said I’d love recommendations for shows where both leads are non-toxic and the story has some depth.

Kabhi Mai Kabhi Tum leads are non toxic but koi extra ordinary story nhi hai.

Radd was so good. Kaffara started as a sweet love story, but then lost the plot.

KMKT is somehow not working for me. Have been watching it, but have yet to watch this weeks episodes.

The thing with trauma is that unless the writer intends to show that yes THIS is why sitara is behaving this way, we can't assume that she has an issue... If the writer does not address the trauma, then it just means that she is only written this way.. This is how she is..

Right now the point thing they are showing that her behavior is because of misunderstanding not trauma.. But in that she is behaving inhumanely.. Mauke ke baare mein bhi socho zara

I remember reading about a ptsd incident. The guy, war veteran, broke everything in the house.. The wife was accommodating until the therapist pointed out that he only broke HER things, not his.. If it was ptsd he would have broken things indiscriminately.. He just hated her.

Same is with sitara. While she did initially misbehave with the parents, now her target is only salaar,.. Not the in laws, not her own family but only salar... She hates him.. That's why these 2 need to separate

I have no clue about how soaps are done on PTV, but awida said that soap hai toh they tend to show negativity. I was in fact enjoying the show coz they didn't show the leads toxic. Yes they made mistakes, but overall they weren't toxic. Even the vamps were shown comically vampish, so we looked forward to what they would be upto.

I don't know if I'm giving too much credit to the writer/ makers, but they have been hinting at Sitara not being fine at all mentally. Whether her breakdown when she came to know Zohaib hit salman for Kiran or her random musings about her family abandoning her or her conviction that nothing wld happen to Nani as uapr wala doesn't test anyone beyond a limit, and she felt her limit was reached.

Yes salar is at the receiving end of most of her lash outs, but she does it with others too. In promo she's lashing out at Saba.

But like I said, maybe I'm reading too much into it n she's a plain psycho now. 😂

She is not really lashing out at saba though.. It is also about salaar... She is basically telling her that i dont have the time or patience for salaars grief..

It would be awesome if they do show that she is having problems.. For years itv and ptv have shown abuse by parents and the leads brushing it away kyunki woh maa baap hain, unka haq hai, woh dil ke toh achche hain etc etc. ... But I'm not holding much hope....

yaar love Salaar, he is so cute. But why does this show have more than 75 episodes. When are they planning on ending the show ? I just started watching it.

since you are watching it from starting now , so you won't be able to hate sitara ...

i just hope divorce ya seperation na dikhaye writer bas , i can manage bear their taunts and fights since its a drama ... ab itne serials dekh ke itna toh patience aa hi gya h mujh m

Watched the episode and they sure are ensuring Sitara keeps having one mu after another. At one level I'm getting what is driving Sitara to behave the way she is behaving, but at the same time the writer has made it too OTT and her behaviour is not at all acceptable.

The way the show is going they are making her character beyond redemption. 🙄
