Not condoning Sitara's behaviour towards salar and total lack of empathy for his loss, but like I've said before, since Nani's health deteriorated Sitara has been in a panic mode. Nani was her safe haven n now she's lost that and she can't seem to look beyond that.

But I’m just here to rant. I haven’t watched Indian shows in 15 years so not sure what goes on there. Have been watching Pakistani shows in the last 5/6 years but my goodness they sorely need good writers. They literally can’t make a show without toxicity. Humsafar- girl ends up with toxic husband. ZGH- girl ends up with misogynistic man although yes he was charming. TB- I was team meerab all the way and writer literally had meerab pine for a man who raped her. Kaffara- Sitara needs therapy. Her behavior is beyond the realm of normal. Her crass language has really touched a nerve for me. There was a show where a mentally challenged man rapes his wife and his grandmother tells the wife to accept it or something like that.

Only Radd and Yunhi were recently acceptable. Radd had non-toxic leads. Yunhi was a great story and concept and well-made. The ending was less than ideal for me but overall still fine.

I think one of the many smart viewers who sometimes write fan fics and is in touch with the pulse of younger audience (who cannot tolerate toxicity or misogyny) really needs to submit a story to one of the bigger production houses and change the norm.

That being said I’d love recommendations for shows where both leads are non-toxic and the story has some depth.

Radd was too good and I especially liked how they show in the end the ML going for a proper treatment for the childhood traumas he has suffered.

As for this drama, I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but there have been hints of Sitara being on the edge and I think Nani's death is going to be the final straw. And hence they are showing her senselessly lashing out.

Writer ne Salar ko hi zaleel zrur kraana tha? Sitara can have same reaction for nani death without Salar being in equation. Aur jo convo us ne last mein suni..it was clearly visible he was in teasing mood. Wo hi bol rhi thi skoon se marjungi, and he was like marne nhi dunga.aur suppose agr uske bolne se unki death ho bhi gai...to jaan k to nhi kya usne. Takleef mein to wo bhi hai

Maybe she realize her mistake in tomorrow episode.

In Daily soaps toxity is a norm. You know for the story has to run for a longer time. So they add twists and turns.

Mere Humnasheen was a drama where ML wasn't toxic. Same goes for Woh Pagal Thi. Dil Na Umeed Nahin was very different and touching show. But this doesn't mean that there were no other toxic characters in those shows. You know there must be villains to entertain us. smiley4

The recent plot developments have become increasingly confusing. I'm considering abandoning the show entirely. To effectively address Sitara's emotional state, the narrative should depict her breaking down and receiving support from Salar. Her current behavior reflects the insecurities she experienced during her parents' loss. Tai's behavior echoes this pattern, suggesting a history of neglect. Sitara's anxious attachment style is driving her actions. She's projecting her fears of abandonment onto her in-laws. While I understand her behavior, it's important to acknowledge that it's not justified. Salar must step in to provide reassurance and address their misunderstandings. Only then she can totally support him and help him grieve nani .if Despite his efforts, Sitara's mistrust persists. Without a narrative arc that explores these issues, I doubt there will be any positive character development for her.

Maybe we are expecting too much from a daily soap

I recall watching Mere Humsafar and noticing Hala's clear symptoms of PTSD. It was surprising that the show didn't address her need for therapy. Even Shahjahan required help to overcome his generational trauma. However, there was no redemption track for her

I appreciated Noorjahan for its acknowledgment of generational trauma. It's a topic that deserves more attention in storytelling."
