It actually is both way I guess. I mean the actresses also accept the roles. Look at Jenny. She is 39. And I don't see her doing mothers roles even when she is 40+

But Parineeta she is doing mother roles even when she was 27.

Becoz ITV and bollywood cannot able to write substantial female roles for women in 40's as a lead. Yes it is changing via ott but still the stereotype of typical of female lead is still very much prevalent.
