I think it is the athlete's responsibility to ensure that she is fit enough to at least qualify for the game. Its plain wrong to blame the Govt, organizers, olympic committee, etc. Discussed this with Mukta too earlier & she pointed out that they do offer (+/-)2kg grace while selecting. So that means Phogat was 2.1kg overweight! A few might not like this but I think many Indians have this chalta hai attitude + many refuse to take the rules seriously + we make everything an emotional issue. Desh ki beti, kadi mehnat ki, ye wo....all that is fine but every person who qualified did all this + managed to qualify. So which is more creditable? Also only in India is mediocrity celebrated. Haryana govt has announced that they will welcome her back like a winner. Why? A winner is a winner! She did not win. Let it be. But nahi, election season hai so caste lords and politicians will milk it max & make the other winners look stupid for putting in so much effort.

We have seen in races, whether on track or in the swimming pool, athletes have lost by a margin of 0.01 seconds. Here she was disqualified by 100 grams because her usual category has been 53 kg. Athletes make several sacrifices to reach to the stature of Federer and Sachin. Phogat is solely responsible for her disqualification. She was once disqualified from an Olympic qualifying event prior to 2016 Rio Olympics for being over-weight by 400 grams.
She has promise if she focuses on her sport.
