I already doubt Sindhu's run.. She had very bad tournaments recently.. Chen yu fei ,akane yamaguchi and all is unbeatable.. I just hope she meets them at semis only..

@bold : We don't have any confirmation about this information. IOC has said that they went by whatever sex was mentioned in the athlete's passport. Algeria doesn't recognise trans so unlikely that would explicitly mention if the athlete was such. The only confirmation we have is that IBF disqualified this athlete because of failed gender test (which did not just involve testosterone levels). Biological females can't have testosterone level as high as males unless they are seriously ill or are injecting it. There's no overlap in the range of normal levels of testosterone b/w males and females. It is highly likely that the case involves the athlete having XY chromosomes.

Athletes with XY chromosomes = Biological Males (even in cases of XY DSDs which seems to be the issue here)

Whatever it is, the IBF already disqualified this athlete, the least IOC could do was clear the reasoning behind allowing this athlete.

with PV's lack of form and Head to head, the Chinese shuttler is already at an advantage..I am anyway managing my expectations nowsmiley19
