Deepika has enough acting skills to be a bwood commercial movie heroine. She ain't no Priyanka but she is miles ahead of all the new lots. She also has immense screen presence and is extremely beautiful and has that larger than life aura to her. It's not her fault if movies like piku and chapak and cocktail come once in a while. Kjo is gatekeeping almost all female oriented movies for his nepo babies. Jhanvi don't have a single hit and she still gets female oriented author backed roles

Also there is a huge difference in box office collection pre and post COVID. Most audiences don't waste their money for female oriented or down to earth type of movies. They want theatre experiences and movies that mostly give them the adrenal rush. That's why all those 300+, 400+ movies are high octane action movies. Other low budget movies mostly have an ott release now.

Also if not Deepika who else are good enough to be in high budget larger than life movies like jawaan and pathaan opposite srk? Pretty sure nobody wants to see kriti or Kiara or alia opposite srk.
