my comment is relative to the reproach of "fake" reviews...
As I know the story, I think that everything positive mentioned about the story isn't fake.
I don't read any reviews of this movie (except those of members having watched the movie) as I'm biased because of the fact that it is a - in my eyes unnecessary - remake of the director's own Tamil movie from 2019 (which I find redundant in times of watching movies on streaming platforms with respective subtitles or even dubbed).
It gives me a quite negative feeling about Akshay's choices of movies because I doubt that he will bring the intensity of the Tamil star (and I also doubt about the honest portraying of the relationship the leading pair showcases).
As much as annoyed I am with the never ending remakes, people should also learn the difference between constructive criticism and unnecessary spread of negativity.
The great Bhool Bhoolaiya was also a remake. Only it released at a time when OTT wasn't a thing and people had minimum excess to the original.
And now almost two decades later, Bhool Bhoolaiya 2 reaped the benefit of being a sequel of that beloved movie.
So why not giving this one a chance at least?
Having seen the original, even I have my doubts whether it'll be as intense. However, from the trailer it's evident that the cast have done a wonderful job.
If reviews were always made up, people wouldn't have bashed Akshay for that horrendous BMCM.
A good film should be appreciated whether it's original or remake and so should be the team.
I like your take on that, Nush_Rat and I also will watch Akshay's movie (albeit not in a theatre).
I had also watched the original and the Hindi versions of BB 1 and 2, equally Shaitaan and many other remakes and their originals. To me, it's interesting to see the differences.
Remakes of movies had always been inherent to Indian Cinema culture.
To me, the problem starts when I notice that with a changing viewer behaviour and so many possibilities to watch a movie at home, some artists still relate a lot on remakes. That isn't necessary with the writer talents also the Hindi filmindustry has. Especially with biopics (but also for other movies), I would like that before spending money on a remake, one should spending money on a good dubbing and join hands with the respective filmindustries. And if the successful movie had been released years ago, one can still do a well dubbed re-release and thus give respect to the original creative team.
