Also how many film stars does PTV even have? Maya is one of them. She’s worked with the lot. Her Teefa movie is on Netflix. Has her own brand. She’s certainly been bringing in audiences longer than her co stars in this and can do it this time too.

Plus fans of their pairing who watched JBG will follow the pair to this drama as well. The whole Mushq photoshoot was hashtag Somi. People do have an attachment to the pair which will bring audience as well. It’s a drama that received lots of critical success.

Just remembered that Udaari had pretty good ratings and it was a HUM show. Btw loved Urwa in Udaari. She played a gaoon ki larki ka role really well in Udaari. Bushra Ansari mentioned that how Urwa took her advice in portraying a village girl.

Isn't she a film star as well with hit films in her kitty? Wahaj's popularity is recent and yet only he is expected to bring in viewers forgetting the fact that we have a bigger star in the starcast..

Just to clarify Maya was not a filmstar in same league as Mahira or Mehwish. She has only ever done 2 films. Her last film was in 2019 which was 5 years ago. Even Urwa gave 2 big superhit films around the same time as Maya. Both ladies were emerging film stars then. But neither have same stardom level now. Just because someone had a certain level of pull 5+ years ago doesn't mean it stays constant. Like 10+ years ago, Adeel was the second choice hero after Fawad but he doesn't have same standing anymore.

Maya is A-list still more for her brand endorsements than for being a hit-maker. But her audience pull is not same as Ayeza or Sajal. It's more similar to Kubra, Sara or Mawra. She has been in industry for long and has worked with the best. She has those networks and connections she has built over the years. But again that is not same as ground audience pull. Someone like Hamza Ali Abbasi is similar. He used to be way more popular before. He is still A-list because of his past work and has the right connections, but his audience pull is now not same as what it was before.

Didn't yunhi have similar trps like zpkb is fetching now? I m not sure but, I remember it getting 7-9 ratings those days..The only reason it didn't get much hype because TB was the talk of the town those days.. No idea about somi fans, but , m sure her being a hit film actress definitely will definitely bring in more viewers and contrary to what people have to say, m sure production is hoping on her to bring in more viewers . In wahaj's case it's us TB viewers and his solo fans, but in her case it isn't limited to TV audience..She infact must be the most popular star interms of ground popularity in SMD..
