He is committed to Arshi and seeing her crying and declare her love him is sure to have some guilt and it's weight on his heart and I feel because of this he is in denial about what Jhanak implies regarding her relationship with Rahul. Unhone ye kaha ki he is assuming wrong about her and Rahul but not about how she really feels for him....

Even if Jhanak tells him she loves him, at this point currently can Ani break away from his family and Arshi?? We all think he is capable of it, Diye ki tarah khud ko bhi jala dega aur aag ki tarah doosron ko bhi jala dega agar zaroorat pade.... sirf Jhanak ke liye, sirf Jhanak ke kehne par. But will he right now? am not so sure. He is a Bechara being pulled in all directions to be honest.

As for bringing Rahul to Kolkatta, it's just another way for him to keep options open to keep Jhanak somehow in his life.

What does 'assuming wrong abt Rahul' mean - if not that 'he's Not her love'?? Ani simply dsnt give it a thought....even when she said he's just her friend, Ani told what if Rahul wants to be more than a friend....its like Ani is pushing Rahul onto Jhanak. But he was pissed off with AK who seemed interested in her, so much that he pushed AK away. Basically Ani is deciding who is suitable for Jhanak & who's not. It's a very strange thing to do when he himself has feelings for her.

At this point, I feel Ani is not bechara....he is keeping Arshi close & trying to keep Jhanak even closer, thereby hurting both the girls. He's being pulled only in one direction - by Arshi & his family, not Jhanak. In fact Jhanak is also pushing him in that direction. Now his heart doesn't want to go that way - wt to do
