Seeing some of the posts on this thread, I’d like to address them respectfully.
There is no such rule regarding the days and timings that ought to be adhered to while broadcasting shows. Running channels is a highly competitive job. Each one fends for themselves. There’s no need to resort to saying points like: “bad move”, “insecure” and so on. They are channels, running their own business and will do the what best suits them. For that, if they will take risks every now and then. Geo was the one who started making bi-weekly shows a thing for their 8 pm slot which did help them immensely. Now, others followed suit because they saw it working. Given how easily distracted and impatient the audience has become now, thanks to the overwhelming influx of content from all sides especially with platforms like Netflix dropping entire seasons for binge-watching, there’s nothing wrong with the decision to air multiple episodes a week.
Similarly they seem to now aim at making weekend shows a thing. Why do some people feel the need to get their emotions in between all this? Tomorrow when Geo applies the same strategy to a show starring their favorites, these same people will laud Kadwani. It’s a fair game for every channel to do as they please. There’s nothing ethically wrong with it.
Jaan Nisar is a signature massy Geo entertainer, the kind that has existed for almost 10 years now. No one’s pretending that the product is something intellectual and neither are we. If the makers decide to surprise us, then that’s a different story.
And before anyone brings out the J card, no, I am not jealous of any other fandom or show. If yours does well, good for you. Let me enjoy my preferences in peace. Stop raining on our parade because you won’t like it when someone does it to you now, will you?
This constant hue and cry with regards to other shows is now getting really tiresome. The sooner you all realise that there are many fandoms who want to just enjoy their favourites’ works and have healthy fun discussion, the quicker the vibe of this place will change for the better.
