They did not take their foot out of the accelerator pedal as every batter who came in after that kept striking the ball cleanly and took the total past 250. Rahul Chahar and Arshdeep were the two bowlers who could walk away with their heads held up while the rest were just taken apart. After smacking 22 fours and 18 sixes, KKR have posted the highest score ever at the Eden Gardens and the sixth-highest in IPL history. Not surprising that the top seven have all come this season. Tonight, it was Phil Salt and Sunil Narine who clattered the Punjab Kings bowlers to all parts with a 138-run stand in 10.2 overs. It was important for the KKR team to not lose momentum after both fell in quick succession, however the two Iyers and Russell continued to dominate. A score of 261 for 6 is massive  and it could've been more had Rahul Chahar not provided some respite with a four-over spell that of 1-33. They were also poor in the field, especially early on, dropping three catching chances in the first seven overs.
