I think it helps that Yumna doesn’t have a hard set “look” which transfers to other shows. She’s looked quite different between all her shows like sinf e ahan, bakhtawar, PKS, tere bin, ishq zeh e naseeb, parizaad and now gentleman. She’s more a performance oriented actor than a style conscious one and isn’t afraid to look a certain way on screen . You shouldn’t be too caught up in style and perfection that you stop looking real on screen.

I’ve only felt that with theater actors and people like Yumna, Mawra etc. Mawra in Nauroz was something else. Very few actresses who would be comfortable rolling around in mud and lathering their faces with it.

For such actors genre doesn’t matter. Be it period piece or whatever. They do their job and it turns out well. The frills don’t matter to them and that’s never their focus. Your eyes only land on the extra stuff if the performance isn’t engaging

Yes. Yumna looks different in her every character. She is not image conscious even she posts raw real photo on insta with her rough hairs and normal cloths.

No actress can pull off Bakhtwar character. Its only Yumna who has the courage to take this step and look totally unglamourous onscreen.
