That seems to suggest that even ignoring Aish's bad feelings towards SRK, that he himself seemed to harbor some sort of resentment or residual negative feelings about her if he was willing to use her name to try and insult Salman. Which is ironic since I can't imagine why he'd still be angry at her after all these years when she has more reason to be. The worst of the Khans is still Aamir who blacklisted Aish for the pettiest of reasons because she refused to work in his flop Mangal Pandey film. Only Rani was desperate enough to work in that lol.

RPA, it had been the other way round (as far as I know)...it had been Salman who said something not nice about Aish which triggered SRK in responding. I don't think that SRK has a grudge towards Aish...but I fully could understand that Salman may have one.

After the movie that brought Aish and Salman together, she didn't work with him in any further movie...and I wonder why. Did Aish initially see something in Salman which turned out to be not what she had imagined...another kind of love (because I'm quite sure that Salman was strongly in love with Aish).

But as it was written here, it's more than 20 years now...bygones now...

I wouldn't comment on Rani here as it's about Aish (Vivek's comment is coloured by bitterness, so I don't take litterally what he said). Rani helped SRK in this situation and I still enjoy the movie without any interest to imagine Aish in her role (as it simply did not happen).

In my opinion, the role SRK and Aish played at this royal visit, does fit both of them. At this time Aish was the most graceful actress very well known through her international work and endorsements and SRK also has a certain grace and is well-versed. The only handicap SRK has, is his awkwardness in certain situations (that's why there is always somebody taking care of him)...here it is Aish.

You have the audacity to call Vidya a potato and then post this pic of Rani??? LOL. You really are blind when it comes to her.

And Charles and Camilla are the two least popular members of the British Royal Family so the fact that Rani could only get as far as them is super laughable. SRK and Aish were hand selected to greet William and Kate, the heirs to the throne, whereas Rani could only get the two nobody likes.

Oh I see, Salman making the comment makes more sense than SRK. I'm glad SRK was loyal enough to Aish that he responded back.

Yes, I also thought it was interesting that outside of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, they never worked together again. They did cameos for each other but never worked in a full-fledged movie again. The video I posted earlier of Sridevi giving Aish the Filmfare for HDDCS does show that she was badly beaten by him so it's clear the abuse was already going on back then. Maybe that's why she wouldn't work with him again. I wonder if it also enraged him that she had won a Filmfare so early on in her career whereas he still couldn't get Best Actor. Much like how when Marlee Matlin won an Oscar for her first role, her then boyfriend, William Hurt, was really harsh with her and how most people have to earn the Oscar by putting in the work for several years and she didn't deserve hers so soon. He was also abusive physically and verbally.

I think it makes sense that William and Kate would get the most recognizable "chaperones" and that would definitely be SRK and Aish in the western world. If done today, maybe Aish would be replaced by Deepika but SRK would still definitely be the male star.
