Secondly, the show was under the scanner. The opening started with a 1.6 TRP. People were rejecting the leads and trolling them. They probably didn't want to cast a popular face, maybe it was a budget issue, so they went with lesser-known actors and newbies to save costs.

I actually have mixed opinion regarding this. I m abhira Sharma's fan but i have no problem with Pratiksha getting a role. I don't think she is bad actress.

Not knowing how to act doesn't mean she is a bad actor. I mean, if I was new to acting, i wouldn't even be able to spontaneously cry like that .

She is just 3-4 months in a new profession. Not a pratiksha/roohi fan at all, & m not justifying her mediocre acting. I don't think newcomers shouldn't get roles, but instead of directly hiring someone new as a parallel lead/2nd lead of a massive show as Yeh rishta, (which doesn't make sense) , Pratiksha should have got a small role as it's her debut show, something like Kiara or Krish, instead of directly parallel lead, when she has no idea how to act. So that she could learn acting and in her second show, she could have been the parallel lead.

But I amvery much interested in Abhira..

And sam is so good in her art that anybody paied opposite her will automatically be liked...🙂
