Re: Jeetu bhaiyya....lol I was wondering about the same....kya phir se Panchayat se clash karvayenge? Cuz uska suddenly release date bataa ke phir radio silence kar diya and no news coming out these days. Anyways both shows are good so I'm happy to watch jaise bhi release karein.....lol

Well jeetu on Bharti ka podcast(which was so good Caz I have never actually known jeetu as jeetu such a nice guy) said they are still jn post production or something but I also read that Amazon wants to space out their big series and theg are banking on it and mirzapur ka new season iss liye creating this hype..

Oh my bad it is a biopic 🤦 then am kind of even more skeptical Caz woh saturation point has come.with tbe overload of biopic let's hope it turns out to be better product for diljit's sake then it looks like and yeah woh Punjab feel is totally missing in this even without the music woh jo beech main dialogue bits and acting bits thay mujhe toh woh bhi off hi lage hain. Also hoping they haven't dubbed his songs with other singers.. matlab where is tbe punjabi pan in the trailer..otherwise toh they shivd it in even south Wali films too for the heck of it..idk I don't see Imtiiaz has actually delivered with this

Matlab isse zyada toh authenticity isme hai..this was tbe film i was talking about which u haven't seen but the promo was good.enoygh to tell it is far better on subject

This movie was a fictional story na....and yeh toh sort of general template hai for Punjabi movies cuz wahaan pe itna folk singers ka tradition hai in Punjab so obviously they know how to bring in the genuine vibe in songs and acting......this kind of role is like a cakewalk for Diljit....this was literally his actual life at one point....doing folks songs ke shows everywhere

Chamkila ki story I guess is different cuz it's set in the backdrop of the 80s wala tense era in Punjab....Imtiaz seems to be contrasting the singing with the whole insurgency wala atmosphere that was going on at the time. I actually don't know much about Chamkila cuz my parents were more Asa Singh Mastana ke songs ke fans.....woh toh yeh teaser dekh ke I asked about this guy and they told me haan yeh bhi famous singer tha 80s mein

Also this movie seems to be targeting a broader audience beyond the Punjabi speaking one as they do for Punjabi films so maybe that is why the different approach....but yeah I'm getting mixed vibes for now. Only curious cuz of the story and Diljit....baaki toh time will tell.

Anyways, I watched the first epi....decent start hai. Story seems to be set against a political background again....lol.

Bilal ke character ka name I couldn't tell clear if it's Fakar or Fakari....he seems to be an orphan living with his aunt and cousin brother who love him like their own. Apni locality ka cricket hero hai and poetry bhi likhta hai....tried to get admission in college but hua nahin. There is another girl in their mohalla who is crazy after him but he seems to be waiting for some dreamgirl who is his muse.

FL ka name is Gulbaano and she already has two men fighting over her crazily......dono cousins hain koi iske - maybe one from her mom's side, one dad's side and both are desperate to marry her......political families lagti hain sab....kisi safed haveli ka drama hai. All this before Bilal se mulaqat bhi hui hai....lol matlab aage do do aashiqon se ladna padega. Girl is acting well so far.

Ismein bhi first meet mein rain and umbrella connection ho gaya a bit like IM.....pehli baar Gulbaano dekhte hi literally clean bowled ho gaya yeh Fakar cuz cricket match ke beech mein dekha....lol he's also been shown to take panga with the local politicians jo ki yeh Gulbaano se related hain so wahan se hi problems honge iske liye.....like most Bilal characters, ismein bhi he has a temper and doesn't tolerate people giving him attitude
