18.5 Sharma to Ghosh, OUT

Deepti gets Ghosh! Fired in quick on a length outside off. Ghosh walks across her stumps, trying to lap it fine. Gets too far across, though, and in the end, she helps it right onto off stump. A slightly anti-climactic end but what an innings this has been, it has elevated RCB out of the doldrums and given them a fighting chance!

S Meghana: It is a great feeling to play my first match for RCB and get a fifty. There is a lot of practice and hard work behind this, I am very happy. I was a little nervous initially but I calmed my nerves. The plan was simple: I wanted to utilize the powerplay, give Smriti the strike and make as many runs as possible. I really enjoyed batting with her (Ghosh). Trying to give her strike and get her to play 20 overs.

RCB make their way to 157, which is lower than what the Capitals managed yesterday but this pitch is a little more sluggish than yesterday too. Ghosh and Meghana were the headline acts. The latter injected momentum into the innings as the big guns around her fell, while the former, who started off slow, came into her own as the middle overs progressed.

The final five overs did not transpire as RCB would have hoped, with only 42 being scored but RCB will know that they have something to work with, especially if dew does not skew the scales significantly.

As for the Warriorz, they controlled the start and the end of the innings, picking up three wickets in the first eight overs, and then three more in the last five. It was in the middle where they lost control. Gayakwad and Ecclestone were miserly, and picked up crucial wickets. Deepti was not at her best during the middle overs but produced a four-run penultimate over.
