LBW should completely judged by DRS now...Cricket board should make this change

Umpire can be there for all other decisions

This is a bad take because we have umpire's call because there is a considerable margin of error/bias in the tech. Even if all the lbw appeals could be referred to DRS, you would still need a third umpire to deal with the ambiguity. We had 3 reviews same as England. On us for losing it on stupid calls. But it's as useless as Stokes saying get rid of umpire's call.

I just meant how easily indian cricket team can lose a winning matchsmiley37 I'm not expecting them to win every match they play. But I feel sad for their lack of seriousness and grasp of certain key matches like world cup final, ICC trophy event final etc.

As Raji rightly mentioned, Team India let England regain their ground to score a decent number of runs!!

An England fightback but in atypical style, Joe Root grinding his way to a 219-ball hundred, an overall run rate of just over 3 RPO (despite them going at 5 through much of the morning). It looked for all the world after the first session yielded five wickets and more than 100 runs that this would be a Bazball-style shootout, only for the pitch to settle down and England to locate some underused gears. Test match cricket, of course, contains multitudes.

Last over of the day and it will be bowled by Yashasvi Jaiswal - his first outing in Tests, though he's delivered a few with the white ball. Leg breaks, or so we are told

Welcome to the second day's play, friends. smiley10

Let us hope that today, before lunch, our bowlers will be able to remove the remaining wickets, without allowing them to score more runs.

Akash Deep - I wasn't nervous, had spoken with my coaches, so I wasn't tense ahead of the game. I don't know how it happened, but I used to take every game as my last game and tried my best. Bumrah bahi advised me to drag the length back slightly (in international cricket), that's exactly what I did. I felt bad (on the no-ball), I was just hoping that the team doesn't lose because of that (since Crawley was batting well). There was a bit of help early on, but the ball became soft and the wicket was slow as well. We just tried to be as tight as possible and bowl in the right areas.

Great debut by this promising bowler .

Root kept going at the other end. He played the conventional sweep once and the reverse sweep once all day, restrained himself and played the situation. He brought up his hundred with a glorious cover drive and added another vital partnership with Robinson. From 112/5 to 302/7, England would take that recovery and if they can cross 350 tomorrow then they are well and truly in the game. The surface has played better as the day progressed and even though the odd ball has kept low, the batters have had the time to negate it. India will hope there's the same sort of help tomorrow morning as there was today and look to pick up the three wickets quickly. That's all from day one.

Let us watch all the action on day two.
