But religious schools assume them a part of Valmiki Ramayana so not sure what to assume

I don't think it happened cause Ram ji freed Ahilya from her curse and said that she wasn't impure , so how can he exile his own wife just because someone said something?

Eerrrrmmmmm English translations of Valmiki Ramayan and Ram charit Manas. Sorry but as a person of Indian origin, Hindi is NOT my...

Hey I went through that entire thread, but never found the citation you gave of Valmiki Ramayan mentioning Urmila sleeping for 14 years nor of Ram Charit Manas

Maybe you mentioned in some other thread. Can you please re share those citations?

I am very sure that Valmiki Ramayana never mentions anything of that sort, but since you said, I am really interested i think I missed that part

Ahalya ji had repented for years waiting for her and then she was forgiven and again that didn't affect Ramji or his family prestige

Things were different when it came to Seeta ma, his family prestige was at stake

But even I hope it was interpolation

That just makes Ram ji a flawed person and i don't think he would've been that flawed....he is Maryada Purushottam....why would he do this to his wife?

But even I hope it was interpolation

Why was she "forgiven" for no fault of hers? I guess i shouldn't look at this incident in a modernized veiw...

King ka crown na 14 years k baad nhi cheen sakte, Yuvaraj and next king to king ko decide karna hai

Hmm yeah Kakeyi didn't knew her son only so she thought bharat would fight for the throne 🙄🙄 I think that's why she was so confident about her plan

Valmiki Ramayana has slightly different story

She actually knew that it was Indra, she just got happy that someone as powerful as Indra is mesmerized by her beauty so as to get into deceit

She knowingly welcomed Indra

So yes it was fault as per those days' standards

Yes I think that could be the thing, she might have thought Bharat ji will become too powerful and then Dashrath will fear removing him

But still would have been better had she asked for lifelong exile

Who wrote these dialogues?
