What I think is she asked for 14 years was because its long enough to establish Bharata and people of Ayodhya would forget about Rama.

No I checked, Dashrath was about to make Ram the Yuvaraj not the king.

Mentioned clearly when Manthara gets to know about the coronation thing. Dashrath wasn't retiring as king, so Raja waali baat isn't valid.

The Yuvaraj is the second most important person in town post king with utmost power and he is expected to inherit the throne, however still king has the right to change the Yuvaraj if he feels someone is more deserving.

Bharat would have become the king only if Dashrath died/retired during these 14 years

The only thing true could be that Bharat's son would have been born earlier. But again he was asked to leave as Vanwasi, not with a vow of celibacy, so assuming that they allowed Seeta to go with him, there were chances of Ram having a child early too..

I mean why take chances

Her first vachan was to make Bharat the Yuvaraj or crown prince.

Now think of it. Had Dashrath not died for next 15 years, then what would have happened?

Bharat would have served as Yuvaraj under Dashrath fir 14 years and then Ram would have returned when Dashrath could have then announced a change in Yuvaraj and made Ram the Yuvaraj again(that was very much within the power of king to change the Yuvaraj if he finds someone more worthy)

i don’t remember the source but I have heard or read that according to Kshatriya rule, if a king or contender to throw doesn’t participate in a war for 14years he loses his claim to the throne. Hence that’s the reason for 14years exile duration, so Ram ji never can reclaim his right. But as we all know he fought war with ravan so technically retained his claim. I am not sure how true is this but seems logical to me.

That was stupid reason to send in forest then because the forest were being repeatedly attacked by Rakshas and Kshatriyas had to fight and protect the sannyasis there. By sending them to forest she was giving him more of an opportunity to participate in war/battle

I don't think that's true if I remember correctly both in Valmiki Ramayan and in serial Raj Rishi suggested Dashrath ji to give all his responsibility to Ram as Ayodhya waasi loves him so much

Ram ji was already yuvraj from childhood as he was the eldest

Regarding celibacy thing, I think as they accepted sanyaasi clothes they were not just normal vanvaaasi but sanyaasi who give up the pleasure of grihast Ashram as well

it must not be forest encounters but a proper war against a proper kingdom . And war must be won

That is possible but the decision of King/Yuvaraj was of king so even if people would have accepted Bharat, Dashrath could have changed the Yuvaraj

Why take chances was my question
