I understand if Armaan doesn't hug her back. He is scared for her well-being and desperately wants to know what happened. Instead of hugging her back he brings her out of the hug to question her again. I don't find anything wrong tbh. In the earlier instances of hugs he knew what was running on her mind and hence we saw those hugs of comfort. Here there is confusion and fear that has wrapped his mind atm.
