His mum is hospitalised. Man, I am gutted for him. Cricket is so inconsequential to me rn as an ICT fan. Everyone seems to be going through a hard time personally.

Virat, Ash, Rahul. It just sucks.

My mind has already drifted from the match and is fully with Ash.

The cruelty of things is that his parents most probably shot the jio iv for his 500th wicket very recently and this horrifying thing happened on the same day.

It doesn't even seem like a minor thing because he has pulled out from the squad altogether.

Man, I am just praying for him and his mum.

Players, too, have a life beyond cricket. And they have every right to choose whether to participate or not.

But, yes, if they commit, they have to honor their cricket commitments as well. Priority should be family and their wellbeing.

India vs England 3rd Test Day 2 Highlights: Ben Duckett’s magnificent 133 takes England 207/2 at stumps on Day 2. Though visitors trail by 238 runs their brisk scoring rate has put India on the back foot. Mohammed Siraj and Ashwin have picked a wicket each for India.

Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin and debutant Dhruv Jurel led a resolute response and Jasprit Bumrah’s cameo helped India reach 445 runs in their first innings on the second day of the third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. India have lost their overnight batsmen Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav in the first hour. However, thereafter Ashwin and Jurel put on a feisty 76-run stand for the eighth wicket. Jurel missed out on a fifty on his Test debut. Jasprit Bumrah’s quickfire 26 helped India add 30 runs for the last wicket.

India were also handed a five-run penalty for a second offence of their batters running on the middle of the pitch. England will start their innings from 5 for 0.

When there is a medical and/or a family emergency and a player decides to leave the match midway and go home or stay back with the team is entirely up to them.

We are in no place to judge them.

I hope Ashwin's mother gets better soon.

I also hope Rahul recovers soon from his injury and Virat and family are fine.

Cheers..

Someone has tweeted that if Ben Stokes agrees, they can take Washington Sundar or someone.

Not sure if that rule is there.

If not a bowler they should allow atleast an extra fielder.
