Day 1: Stumps
India's day as they have battled back superbly from 33/3. The revival came from Rohit Sharma and Jadeja who strung together 204 for the fourth wicket. Granted the wicket flattened out and conditions were easy for batting but both batters deserve all the credit for rescuing their side. Earlier on, India were in big trouble inside the first hour as Jaiswal, Gill and Patidar all fell. India sent Jadeja at 5 and it paid off handsomely. Rohit who got starts in the first two Tests got the hundred he was threatening. But he took on the short ball and found mid-wicket to give England another opening. Debutant Sarfaraz walked in and played so well, belying the fact that he was on debut.
