Last few years, one actor breaks out. People say he is next Fawad. God's gift to men and women. Hyped up like mad. Few months later, the hype dies down and people move to next IT thing.

2024 is Bilal

2025 mai koi aur hoga

This craze does not carry over to subsequent projects. Ahmad did Idiot after Parizaad and no one cared to even check it out or even his new film. Farhan did Mere Humsafar but Jhok Sarkar did not have many takers. After TB, no one bothered to watch 22 Qadam. I was so surprised to see that new Sajal-Wahaj PS struggle to cross 100k views on Seran's IG. Even the recent Sapphire one Yumna did for Sapphire which is not on her IG got 250k-500k. I meant previously they used to get similar views on PS so the big difference in #s surprised me and is indicative of Wahaj's hype having gone down a great deal.

Film stardom is different from TV stardom. Getting people to pay to see celebs in cinema when they can see them for free on TV is a different ball game. So I won't correlate TV stardom with BO necessarily. Mehwish does not have same TV stardom now as an Ayeza or Yumna, but people will pay and go see her in the cinema.

But of course sooner or later everyone's hype goes down. I just wasn't expecting Wahaj's hype to go down this fast this soon esp. when compared to his costar in the same show.

This is the second time bilal is getting the hype. He had that when he did cheekh and pks and everyone were talking about him in IVs. That's when he became a proper A list actor from the new boy in town.

Hamza's stardom days I'm sorry to say are already gone. I find him just dull in JeJ - maybe it's the cktr, I dunno. He has a very uncle vibe these days sorry to say. His hype is nowhere now what it used to be.

I agree stardom is different from being a good actor. Fawad and Humayun are probably the only 2 stars we have. I honestly think both are able to hold onto that star image because they did films and stayed away from TV for the most part. The only TV show Humayun dis between 2016-2023 was MPTH. That film star cache and not doing TV is what gives them both sustained stardom.

Look at Shaan Shahid. God knows when he gave a Lollywood hit last. Never did TV. He is still considered a star. On the contrary, look at Babar Ali. Both were contemporaries and were at par as heroes in their hey days. Since Babar started doing TV, uski koi aukaat hi nahi rahi waisi jaise pehli thi.
