He was a big catch during Humsafar & then he worked in bollywood as well. He was the best looking guy during his prime & acted well. I don't know about his comic timing though. As of now if we consider age & work Bilal is ahead.

That is such an excellent point. I think that's why Wahaj's hype (and fandom) was not able to sustain after Tere Bin. The connect people had was with Murtasim and not Wahaj. And why I think Yumna's popularity and hype continues to grow day by day - the audience may not have liked Merub but they appear to have that connect with Yumna through Tere Bin and her past projects

So anyways is Bilal the next/new Fawad? Are we now going to hear every reviewer, actor and chat show try to chase clout using Bilal's name? Should I now gear up to see my TL flooded with Billu gym videos and selfies with every tom, dick, harry fan

Yumna's character was poorly written in TB, still she was able to perform. She is very good with adding nuances. Although I found her going a little overboard with expressions in PKS as compared to Bilal but she's still a damn good actress.

You just need a romantic role to get such kind of popularity. I'm sure if Shahmeer gets scenes like Asher got with the hair thing in Humsafar Bilal will ace it. He has those eyes & expressive face.

I think Bilal ke hatke roles is very over blown honestly. Befotre IM, Cheekh and PKS are truly the only roles where I have seen Bilal in a different avatar. He is a good actor so of course all his performances are very fine but to call him hatke is a bit much. Warna to Wahaj bhi hatke hogaya because he did Rumi in JBG, a selfish cheater in Ghissi Pitti Mohabbat, an obsessed lover/druggie in Fitoor.

I think Bilal's gift is his craft. He is such a natural actor who immerses himself in whatever roles he get. We also don't know much about Bilal so we never know if the cktr is Bilal or someone else. I think that's what allows him to transition in and out of roles so smoothly.

Wahaj still has a lot of hype from what I have observed on SM.

I don't think anyone can be the next Fawad Khan on PTV. He did Humsafar, Dastaan and Zindagi Gulzar. He was lucky to get such excellent projects with the leading actresses of that time. Imo, no one in PTV has the charm and the good looks (at his peak) of Fawad Khan. He also worked in BW which is not possible for actors of this generation

Characters like abdullah, wahji or shahmeer/Fazal baksh aren't very common whereas wahaj's role in gpm and fitoor are pretty common characters in pak dramas. We have seen enough cheating husbands and nakaam ashiqui who ends up being obsessed with the girl. The theme or concept of dobara is something that's not very well explored in pak dramas. As far as I can tell jbg seems to be an over all good project with all the other actors also giving good performances whereas IM's main attraction is Bilal and people are enjoying watching him and his antiques even though nothing in that drama makes sense or no other character comes off as interesting or giving amazing performances. Take him out and there is literally nothing to talk about in that drama. The senior actors are good but nothing worth talking about. The only other actor worth talking about is the real Fazal baksh whose comic timing and dialogue delivery are funny.

In a short spam of time bilal managed to make audience seperate him from his characters and see him for the actor he is than the characters he play. I guess it's mainly because he chooses scripts as an actor and not as a star. His dramas work because of the actor that he is rather than the star he is.

It's like even if we miss 2-3 episodes we won't miss much of the stories. All we are gonna miss is Fazal baksh and shahmeer's antiques and lying and others just believing whatever he says. At this point if he says the earth is flat all the other characters will believe that as well

Bilal already had the phase of every actor and chat show talking about him when he played wahji. At that time every actress would say they want to work with him and he has always been getting praise from reviewers for his performances even though he barely gives them IVs. Along with talent bilal seems to be very lucky as well.
