I’m glad at least Hassan has seen some sense. Amina will too eventually lol. She’s right about Mein though. Even if Wahaj is playing Zaid beautifully - which I agree he is - this is not the script for an actor of his caliber. His character is not well explored and there’s no range for him to perform. So in that sense Amina is justified. A lot of us are okay with watching Wahaj in non alpha roles but those roles also have to be written well and in depth and given attention in the script with PLENTY of screen time. Here with zaid, that’s not the case. The drama is about to end soon and we’re still waiting for him to do something or to gain some perspective from his side. So that presence is not there even though he’s the common factor among all these characters and relationships. Yet the focus is never on him.

I think Wahaj must have taken this feedback seriously as well - because both fans and critics this time have been vocal about this role - and hopefully he does better fleshed out characters in the future.

as for SH my rule is to just watch them when you know you’ll be entertained by their takes on an episode. Otherwise there’s no point lol. The credibility might not always be there. But fun? Yes. Sometimes they’re fun.

These are attention seekers, so up to us to give them what they want. Wahaj is not a child, he will get honest feedback from his fans and true well-wishers.

My gut feeling is that whatever compromise there was on his character was done predominantly to not tax him too. Otherwise Zaid is written well, at least there's a section of viewers who can relate with him...it's the perspective with which the character is viewed.

I never watch them anymore but I just peeked at their review. Hassan is disappointed with his choice in taking up the role of Zaid. I think he feels that no matter how weak a role, Wahaj is always able to put in input to strengthen the character which he didn’t do here because he was extremely busy. I think he has but Zaid is designed in a way where he doesn’t talk much or get overly emotional. I feel he’s played him very well but apparently people just want to see him very prominent. I think if you don’t understand Zaid then it is hard to empathize with him. Empathy is important to connect with a character. I really believe some dialogue will help the average viewer connect and put everything into perspective.

Aamna kept questioning his choices post TB even though Hassan kept pointing out it’s only Mein. She also kept saying that TB is his only hit and Hassan disagreed listing his other hits. Not everything is going to be TB level, can’t hold that as the benchmark in terms of success. Aamna was including MPHT and 22 Qadam as post TB choices. No one loved the story of MPHT but Wahaj’s performance was appreciated and his performance in 22 Qadam is also appreciated. To her credit she admitted that Wahaj is a very good actor so maybe her expectations are unreasonable, I don’t know. I feel she is only happy seeing him as an alpha. Hassan tried to reiterate that only Mein and his movie TMK was post TB and Aamna said he was excellent in TMK.

I actually enjoyed MPHT just for Saad ...har waqt sad rehta hai. 🤭

I loved his pairing with Hania and wish they'd do another love story together. TB- Meerab is not really my cup of tea though I can explain all her actions...just that I prefer more serious characters. I feel Wahaj looks really good with Maya as well...no wonder Yumhaj fans feel insecure. 😄

I sincerely prefer Hania and Maya over Yumna just going looks wise. Acting- all are good.

I also loved the redemption track in mpht - it was so sweetly done.

Yes, he’s made these amazing grand gestures of love for Ayra - but he’s also punished her at different times as well. He loves but there’s an edge to his love.

MJ is also not a *giver* - at least so far in her relationship she’s not. Her needs just align with Zaid’s at the moment - their companionship. But I’m hopeful when she gets tested, she will prove she can give selflessly as well. Still waiting on that in the show.

It's not any of our character sketches. The writer intended something...if we have not understood what was trying to be conveyed ..either the communication was not good or the reception was not prepared.

If you really sit down and think about how much Zaid and Ayra have given to their relationship...I doubt you can come up with even one thing she has done selflessly. That's what the writer intended to show...it's not a fault in the writing.
