India U19 won by 84 runs
17:29 Local Time, 15:29 GMT, 20:59 IST: A comprehensive win for India to kickstart their campaign. The century stand between Adarsh Singh and Uday Saharan followed by cameos from Aravelly Avanish and Sachin Dhas helped India post 251 - a competitive total on a track where stroke-making wasn't straightforward. In reply, Bangladesh got off to a decent start scoring 33 runs off the first 6 overs. Murugan Abhishek took a brilliant catch which provided the breakthrough, and Saumy Pandey struck twice in two overs which reduced Bangladesh to 41/3 in the first power play. Things got worse when Arshin Kulkarni trapped Ahrar Amin lbw in the 15th over. At 50/4, Mohammad Shihab James joined Ahrar Amin and the duo stitched a 77-run stand.

Welcome to Day 4 of ICC U19 ODI World Cup Matches. Today Bangladesh will take on Ireland from Group A.024
🏏ICC U19 Men's ODI WC 2024:Group A: Bangladesh vs Ireland at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein on 22/01/2024 at 1:30 PM IST🏏

After suffering a big defeat to India, Bangladesh will hope for their first win of the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024 when they take on Ireland.
Bangladesh’s youngsters were phenomenal in 2023, closing out the year with an ACC U-19 Asia Cup crown. Having beaten India in the semi-finals of that tournament, Bangladesh squared off against the UAE in the title clash. They made quick work of the Middle Eastern nation, beating the side by 195 runs.
Ireland had a fitting start to their tournament that saw them take down the United States. The match started with the Irish side winning the toss and electing to field first. The duo of Reuben Wilson and Oliver Riley combined for six wickets and helped curb the United States at a mere total of 105 runs. Ireland lost early wickets of Jordan Neill and Gavin Roulston in their chase though.
Wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Hunter stepped up for the side and smashed a half-century in 63 balls. Later in the innings, skipper Philippe Le Roux combined with Hunter to earn a seven-wicket win for the European squad. They will be hoping to repeat a similar feat against Bangladesh next.
Mangaung Oval Pitch Report:
The playing field at Mangaung Oval has consistently demonstrated a commendable equilibrium, providing assistance to both batters and bowlers. Teams choosing to bowl first have witnessed a marginally higher success rate, indicating potential early-game advantages for the bowling side. While attaining competitive scores through batting remains achievable, chasing a target on this pitch presents a formidable challenge.
