She's very fake. This is the least she's lied about. At least this lie is only hurting herself but her other lies have hurt many others.

Smoking for girls still carries such a negative social stigma. A few years ago Kareena was caught in someone’s insta post with a cigarette in her hand and she made the girl delete the post. Ananya is fairly new, gets regularly trolled, and is very image conscious. So while it was extremely stupid for her team to come up with this lie, I can understand why they did it.

Unless the interviewer asked her straight up about smoking , there was no reason for her to make this up.

Maybe someone else lights it for her

She didn’t say she doesn’t smoke. Lighting a cigarette is very simple yet hard to do sometimes.

Even if she lied, how is this a big issue?
