Natasha chose to resign rather than work with him. She has enough to survive and doesn't need the third degree from him.

So now he feels he lost something when she left. He doesn't know why he feels that.

He must be looking really good now since a nun got impressed.

He discovers now what a good person she is and how wrong he was about her.

He is doing his best to take care of her now. She is getting the best treatment.

How did the nuns not know about her condition? Was she always diabetic?
