Yep quite convenient to lump everyone who likes the film into the same mindset of this guy (who btw changes his stance at the drop of a hat….he had sung praises of adipurush saving Bollywood and promptly disowned it after he saw the teaser …hes fine with pre marital sex shown in kabir Singh but he’s averse to this kinda lifestyle in thank you for coming etc ….he’s just a pro Hindu, pro gov, I hate feminists agenda driven guy…given feminists are objecting to this; he’s just on the opposite side to rile them up….not coz the cinema validated him or hia beliefs)

The Dhruvv rathe video was also heavily criticised for the holier than thou attitude and the need to manaplain to the audience on how to watch a film and what to like …and the assumption that Indian audience is intellectually incompetent

Both are peas from the same pod …using movies for their own virtue signalling

Might just need to use “won’t date idiots who judge others based on film choices” as the dating bio to rule out the rathees and boardes

And there are also reviewers who very well see the problematic aspects and like the film for the way it’s made and the way it has been performed : https://youtu.be/VG4j-PtZSWA?si=dDQHnyTTkn73ri1R

I agree with what you wrote about Dhruv ... actually, I only watch him when he is recommended in a thread I follow, but I don't like him very much...too preachy...I prefer Akash Banerjee (India) and Korbin Miles & Rick Segall (LA) because of the satire/humour.

I didn't watch the video with the right wing man, though.

For everything else, I'm the most interested in what members here write...

You are free to use anything on your dating profile, I won't be there to check. One comment, about my preference has triggered 2 people to make personal remarks here, but you guys expect everyone else to take a commentary of a "movie like a movie" when the movie has a much wider audience than my comment.

I don't know these youtubers personally like you do but Pratik's video was shared to explain how conservative people are seeing the movie, you can continue trying to gloss it over saying that the lead character wasn't "glorified" or isn't being celebrated when we can clearly see the opposite everywhere

IKR!!

This seems like a refuge of those who don't want to accept shortcomings of the movie.

The movie is a masterpiece which presented Vijay as a villain, everyone criticizing it is crazy

Director went on record to say that there's no love without domestic violence but he is the guy we are going to trust

This video is a good example of two fan boys supporting a movie, telling how people won't be influenced by it but throughout the video they keep mimicking the gesture Vijay's character does in climax of the movie at 3:46 mark

The movie influenced them enough to mimic an obscene gesture on record and they are telling us that others won't get influenced

Thanks for sharing the video.

I think it’s a personal remark already when people who liked the film are labelled to be “problematic vanga violence supporters” …so u kinda get what u give really

There are more balanced perspectives everywhere and people really aren’t as dumb as they are being made out to be

Also the debate isn’t abt whether or not people liked the film…everyone’s free to like or dislike it for whatever reason

The debate is abt whether ppl who disliked the film get to “tell people off” for liking it…I think not..

Pratiek’s video is an attack on wokes and he’s merely shooting off the shoulders of this film, and that’s evident …the film has several in non conservative aspects abt it incl defying parents to marry someone u want, pre martial sex, extra marital affairs…they just use the success of the film to pick and peddle whatever they want to peddle ….while ignoring that the film needs to be looked at on the whole
And that’s on them

Yeh and people also kept going on with the “Baap ka , bête ka sabka badla lega re tera Faisal” dialogue in memes

Dosent mean they want to become nawaz in gangs of wassepur

Ppl repeat gabbars dialogues dosent mean they wanna become dacoits
ppl also dance like a mad maniac to khalibali in padmaavat dosent mean they idolise khilji

If the argument that wassepur , sholay, padmaavat showed consequences and therefore didn’t glorify violence or gangsters, then people imitating it shouldn’t happen right coz they should be so disgusted by it ?

Wrong

They imitate catch phrases , hairstyles, aesthetics that work cinematically regardless of the “consequences” shown in the film for those characters …coz they found them entertaining and use it in that context …not emulate every problematic characteristic of the character itself and become evil or idolise the character …

and rather convinient to label them as fanboys….and dismiss their opinion right there …might as well say dhruvvv are haterrrrs and other such low brow arguments in which case, it isn’t even a discussion…it’s a rabid Twitter fight

Replying to both comments here

@bold

They said it in the beginning of their video as I said I don't know them personally like you do, I was just commenting on the video you have shared, at least watch what you are sharing with us.

On the other hand, You are dismissing Dhruv Rathi and Pratik guy in your every post.

@red - How does one know to what extent a movie can influence someone? Is it limited to repeating a few dialogues or actually validates their thought process?

For example - Vanga went on record to say that there's no love without domestic violence so Kabir slapping Preity and Vijay abusing Geetanjali or Geetanjali slapping Vijay is actually presented as what people do when they are in "love" and I see many people who support this thought process

The director is accepting it but you want us to believe that movie doesn't celebrate or glorify the character when it is clearly not the case.

Anyways, the discussion is futile because you'll continue denying what was shown in the movie or what is there in fan reactions or views of critics.

So this will be my last reply to you.
