no, there isn't "universal acceptance"...there is hightened curiosity and also acceptance.

Actually, I like movies that provoke discussion...I simply regret that it is a sloppily made movie from someone who could have made it a movie with more depth...

And yes, I regret that he is rewarded for his faults which also includes to not having explored Ranbir's genuine talent but using him in a one-dimensional and superficially labelled character (this father-son problem was treated like a sandbox-play...just a pretexte).

He is not rewarded. The entire purpose of his madness was to save his dad and live a happy life with him. But that didn't happen. He also did not end up having happy ending with his wife and kids in the process because of his actions. Having him dying in the end wouldn't have done any good either, as that would have glorified the character even more.

He is a the son of the fictional richest man in India, so ofcourse him getting arrested wouldn't make sense either.

And now he has to face someone even worse than Abrar, who also happens to be his doppelganger.

Also yes is accepted by the majority of the movie going audience.

You misunderstood the "he"... Vanga gets rewarded (which should have been clear in the writing of my post)...

Well, to be honest, also Vijay didn't really had to suffer from the consequences of his killing sprees and his - as "alpha" designed - behaviour...the father-son-story is a mere pretexte... it has no depth.

Of course, it is a success...it is an allowed special (and prolonged) kick...I bet there are (especially) men who will go again and again...
