Guddu, he is mocking these assertions (buying his awards) in the 2nd article.

The first one is about the Baazigar one (he finally didn't buy).

Personally, I really would like that Vikrant and Vicky (I'm confident that he'll be excellent as Sam) get a reward for their action prowess.

Vikrant was nominated once for FF critics...it would be nice if he wins this time.

Vicky already got a FF critics award (and one for his supporting role in Sanju) and I guess he may deserve one for Sam (who had been a very popular person at his time).

But actually, the year hasn't finished...there are still three prominent movies to come.

As for SRK...to me, he is always the heart of a movie...I'm utterly biased

In 1995 very good movies came like agnisakshi by nana patekar or najayaz by ajay devgan they did better than SRK. Or Srk himself did better as Ram jaane

In 1998 instead of KKHH amir khan for ghulam or bobby deol for soldier should have got it

1997 Dil to Pagal Hai than sunny deol for border or anil kapoor virasat sshould get

Devdas 2002 ajay devgan for legend of bhagat singh should get

My name is khan 2010 udaan actor or hrithik for ghuzarish should get

I just saw a clup so I am gonna go with Salman on Big boss. Kia mast acting hai to be all righteous and the voice of reason when it comes to relationships.. he was legit telling people how to behave in relationships

On a serious note, considering the business, if Shahrukh hasn't used up all his money to buy tickets of his own movies and partying, I hope he has enough left to buy a couple of awards. It was been way too long

That I would respect this personal opinion...and I know myviewprem isn't the only one to think so being in big company with her opinion.

Even I wondered about some FF awards...

However, my theory never had been that he bought one of those awards...after Baazigar he didn't made any attempt anymore to influence a jury...as he said "he had stooped very low" and he didn't want to do this again...telling it openly was his kind of apology to have betrayed the values his parents taught him.

I guess, anyone who knows a bit about SRK's carreer also knows that he became - somehow - the darling of the Hindi filmindustry and a star sought-after by the media...SRK 'selled'. He got immensely popular (and therefore each time a candidate for the popular award)

The Filmfare magazine was the most prominent one in the 90ies and first decade of the 2000s and they wanted SRK, again and again...for interviews, shootings, reports and performances (dancing and hosting) because it brought them money...looking at SRK, they always may have had $ in their mind...and Jitesh Pillai became one of the close-friends-circle.

Do I have to elaborate more? Of course, ShahRukh would not refuse an award...but as far as I know, he still made them pay for being the host at the show (there had been sponsors enough who wanted him as he had proved a recipe for public interest and paying guests for the show).

Then FilmFare started to invent awards in the years he wouldn't get one respective to the polls... and somehow I guess that this was a real disservice they did SRK (and to themselves, too). I don't know how much the respective sponsors had their say in it but it made this awardgiving a farce.

When they gave SRK the 3rd invented award (2013), I think he was done with Filmfare and made it clear, to them, too. Filmfare then took a small revenge and wrote something nasty in 2015...since then, they didn't get anything new from SRK for the magazine (no interview, no shooting etc).

He still hosted but he is a professional entertainer also, so that was paid work for him, nothing else.

What makes you so damn sure that it was because of SRK that they boycotted the awards. Isn't that making him a scapegoat for a proceeding that wasn't in his hands even when it was to his favour?

The FilmFare Awards aren't SRK, it's an industrial product (if you're interested what is behind FF and also the awards, there is ample information on the Net).

SRK was a surety, a financial investment, a brand to use...not Aamir, not Ajay etc ... When there had been a successful movie with SRK in a year (or even more) that could get him an award through the poll, then he would get it. His popularity was what was rewarded, not always the acting.

He really didn't n e e d to buy any award, they were 'thrown' at him from all sides (except the national one).
