Zack: "what is happening with DASUN SHANAKA? did he retire mid-way through this World Cup? " --- He's out injured Zack, though there are certain question marks over his continued role as captain and in the team as a whole.
Steven Smith: Not overthinking too much (about the two losses), we've played ourselves into a corner by two teams who have played really well. It's about coming into our own as soon as possible. We'll have to rectify a few things, take our chances and be consistent with both bat and ball. The ball nipped around a bit under lights (against South Africa here), it did get wet towards the end, so we can get a few runs towards the end if we bat well. We need to give ourselves a chance, bat well under the conditions and give ourselves an opportunity if dew comes in (if batting second). We need to assess the conditions well, play out the new ball and we do have quality in our team. Sri Lanka have been good themselves, they've some very good players, but if we stick to our process, we can do well.

Rakesh: "Both team coming with 4 loses and 1 win in their last 5 ODIs." --- The parallels continue.
Alex: "I didn't understand Carey's omission last game and it still doesn't make sense. Carey brings so much to the team and should be in it regardless of batting form. Cant see Australia winning without Carey." --- gotta say, that's a pretty suspect first name you've got there "Alex".
ICYMI: Skipper Dasun Shanaka has been ruled out of the World Cup due to a right thigh muscle injury he sustained during their previous game against Pakistan. Chamika Karunaratne, the traveling reserve, will now replace him in the squad and Kusal Mendis will take over the captaincy duties.
Early inputs about the surface: "I think it is a mix of red soil and the black soil and it is looking a little bit soft. There might be something in it for the spinners,"
so can we expect less extras from SL?Originally posted by: WildestDreams
