Nothing was said for the next 30 or so minutes, she cleaned up the house, and went to look for his keys, he took a call in the room they had shared the previous night

She hated herself for throwing it so impulsively

Harold glued himself to Pradyut, he was taken for his morning “jobs” IN the rain!!!

When they returned, the dog of course soaked, because Pradyut refused to put on the tiny rain parka she had bought for Harold

He was soaked, she took out the dryer and gave him a heated drying massage

He watched with amusement

“Tumhe mazaak lag raha hai, if he falls sick only I have to take him to the vet”

“Oh… I forgot” he muttered laughing under his breath

“Not funny Pradyut”

Harold ran back to him after getting dry

“Jao usi ke paas, tum sochte thodi ho?”

“Does he know Hindi?” Pradyut goaded her

“He understands me” she said looking straight at him

“Everything about our 10 months together has been about you saving the store”

She was speechless

“Yep” he said arms across his chest

“Oh sorry, I feel these 10 months have all been about you asserting the win of getting me in return”

“IT IS” she said firmly walking back into her brother’s room

“The kitchen window has been broken into, it needs to be fixed”

She turned to him startled

“Someone has tampered with it and placed it back just enough so it can be leveraged later to get in”

She stood up from crouching position and leaned on the window

The bulge visible as she stood near the window

“I am having the Zenith crew come in, when the rain stops”

“I run a construction company will you please let me handle it?”

“Umm… I don’t want to be…”

“We are already tangled like anything Pradyut” she said in a troubled tone

“Not one of our entanglement is due to a tampered window” he said looking at her deeply

“I can leave the bike here” he nodded

“U will come back here to get it?” her gaze flew to his in panic

“Don’t worry I wont stay the night”

“Jaanti hoon” she said not trying to hide her heart break, looking sideways out the window

“If you want to see me again, Taara, YOU will have to call”

“Kyon?” she challenged

“YOU ran away from home” he said holding her gaze

Her heart drummed like rocks sliding off a mountain.

“Were they going to start all over again? Dating? Flirting? “Why?” “Its not like he doesn’t know how smitten I am, why does he want to shame me even more” Great!! Like last night I wasnt shameless enough for him?” she cursed mentally

He saw the key chain hanging off a book carton, a pair of gel eyes, he looked at it for a second and turned around to leave. She hadn’t seen it yet, she flung it last night when she was enraged about the fact that he rode it all the way from Delhi, or so she assumed. She was to find it and call him.

Harold followed him

“hare” she called out and picked him up

His phone rang non stop

He waited for his Uber…. he said casually without thinking “I don’t want it to be a bolt on, it needs to be built in, ERPs cost Towers Partners, huge upfront investment…. (listening pause) “I don’t have my laptop, (listening) “No I am at my wife’s parents’”

She liked the sound of that

The guy will beat around the bush. Never confess. Maybe he doesn’t really love her.

Care necessarily doesn’t mean love. He does care for sure. Could be simply coz he is not bad human being.

Happy that atleast he didn’t defend Pia.

Pia is upfront? Since when? She always says stuff to Tara when her family is not around.

She can hate Pia. He can hate Gaurav. But still, where does that leave them?
