I partially do get why Anjali fell for Rahul during college, he did kinda lead her on with the "Pyaar Dosti Hai. Agar woh meri sabse acchi dost nahi ban sakti, toh main usse pyaar kar hi nahi sakta kyunki dosti bina toh pyaar hota hi nahi hai." and she was too young to recognise his mentality, because he kept acting like he valued her (maybe he even did, and was just a massive idiot to not see it till the station scene) + when she questions the scene after the party, her matron tells her to still confess?! The above dialogue does hold true in some weird way though - Your BFF is the most likely person you envision as your partner, coz there is a natural tuning there which can help sustain a relationship. If there is something I am glad KKHH showed is that Tina was a beauty-with-brains (she read Sidney Sheldon) and absolute sweetheart especially in the moment when she showed her maturity when Anjali was being laughed at by everyone, and even Anjali never disliked Tina for getting together with Rahul, nor held her responsible for her broken heart. Infact she left their lives when she realised she was being the third wheel (wish she would've gone post the final exams though, degree leke chali jaati). But yes, 8 years is a long time, she could have given Aman a fair chance, and he was anyways such a sweet guy, he would have kept her happy.
