Don't know how hasini & manavi arrived at 96 (would love to hear from them)

but here goes,

a + b --> a + ab, so

1 + 1 * 4 = 5

2 + 2 * 5 = 12

3 + 3 * 6 = 21

8 + 8 * 11 = 96
