If audience stops consuming these crapfests and actually watches the shows that are different & progressive, then PH & channel would have no option but to make shows like that. Yes and actually most Indian audience want to see fam drama and they are not open to unique and different plots or serious plots. Unique plots are also suitable for short duration shows/movies. They cannot run for 300+ episodes. So these PH's just keep on adding more Sas-Bahu jhagra torture and illicit relationship between male lead and some vamp.

Until we stop this neverending serials these will continue. Bring back the 13 episode serials, then only we can expect good stuff.

I try to tell my Mom ki why are you watching these things? Read some books or watch Documentaries or watch plain simple movies! and my mom gets mad at me for belittling her beloved serials It's a lost cause

Cant replace a tv show with book/documentary.

Everything has its unique place.

English content that I watch cant fulfil my craving for hindi shows.

A 3 hour movie cant replace the couple of 20 min shows I watch for one hour every day after work while eating dinner.

Theres a comfort, nostalgia factor in watching hindi tv shows for me.

Similarly our moms, chaachis etc also want to consume fiction in their language. They aren't endorsing bhabhi jeeja cringe fest or other crass stuff but ab har show mein triangle or regressive bakwaas hi hoga toh they can't do anything.
