The Maharani has gone mad- the only thing that matters for her is executing the killer of her husband. She thinks Tara helped him escape, and asks her to show proof of her non involvement.
To convince her mother, Tara is organising the swayamvar. She knows Dhruv will come to stop it, and can then capture and hand him over as proof of her non-involvement. The idea of the swayamvar came from Ranchod though (the human Krishna form)
Mahavir tries to convince both Tara and Maharani that it's a terrible idea. Both aren't bothered- Maharani is so much into "justice for Maharaj" mode that she's willing to see her daughter married to anybody so long as she gets to execute Dhruv. Tara says she's willing to sacrifice anything to bring her father's killer to book and satisfy her mother. In short- atrocious ITV writing, especially for Maharani's character, which has become downright terrible.
