I have been thinking for a while now that so many are upset at Royals and Tara in particular, whereas Dhruv isn't and why. I realised as viewers we know things that they do not from a story POV.
When Dhruv fell for Tara he saw that although she was impulsive and bit out of touch her intentions were always right. She kidnapped him and then they got lost, he did not blame her as she never lied to him and of course he had soft corner for her. What I think Dhruv knows and realises is that she is from 17th century where although she is a royal she is very sheltered and maybe silly at times (he did tell that shyam that Tara is not cunning like you).
When he came to 17th century, usually if someone is there to save your son a person will bend over backwards to make their life easy but here the king agrees to hands being chopped. Again, Tara jumped in and in a way that only 17th century people can do. I used to think why isn't she talking to her dad but then I realised I can talk to my dad and he will listen to my POV but a 17th century royal may not where women were best suited barefoot and pregnant.
Compared to those standards Vallabhgadh can be called progressive as Anusiya was in an almost live in with Mahavir, Tara had freedom to go in and out in the court, talk back when she felt like it etc.
When Tara fell for Dhruv she said for me love is worship. I found that odd but then thought for her it makes sense. She doesn't know what love is, maybe because the only love she had was her brother but that is not a love you would have towards a spouse. Her dad loved her but he also made decisions for her and did not ask her, mom was not in the picture. So the next love was god - kanaji where she said what she wanted to and felt protected. With Dhruv she got that in human form. He knows that and that is why he is always protecting her at times from herself. Dhruv on the other hand may have had some kind of inclination of love from Ayesha, maybe? or as he is from 21st he has better understanding.
In a normal scenario no girl would marry Samrat - Dhruv or no Dhruv in the picture. She disliked Samrat and even he acknowledged that she is always taunting and being rude to him. But Tara could not dare to tell that to her father. I am sure in 21st century no girl will say yes I will marry a guy like that, unless they are conditioned in a way that they cannot. Dhruv knew that and took over the task and when Tara realised her brother and mother were also supportive she actively joined the plan too.
I saw her stand up to Samrat when Dhruv was arrested to be killed the very first time. She did say that with body and mind I am Dhruvs and ran away.
When Dhruv found out about dad and asked Tara for explanation, that is Dhruv. He was shocked and angry (justified) but to Tara and her family they were not expecting that because they are royals of 17th century. They don't think progressively like rest of us do. They may have thought Dhruv is reasonable and we will explain our side and sit and talk. That did not happen. Their last thought of Dhruv was him going eye for an eye and to Tara - our love is not the same and how would you feel if I do the same to your dad?
Sadly, both the main actors fell ill and story could not be explored further. We got the pervy princess and all that drama. The royals saw how Dhruv was but Tara does not. Her last scene with Dhruv was him removing the knife out of dad's body, dad pointing his finger at Dhruv on his deathbed, and Dhruvs own words where he said dad for dad. I get that she should trust him, but trust is not blind. Whilst I get she may excuse the knife and Dhruv's words, how can she not believe her own father on his last breath pointing finger at Dhruv? That is what is stopping her from giving her all and it is reasonable as no one lies during their last time. The king was wrong we know that but I doubt even king knew he is wrong. Also, since the curse no one has any time to sit and think except Dhruv and his was by default as he was in prison. Tara took Ravi to 21st, comes back sees Navrangvan burning, then sees Dhruv who is not in prison, then dad's last rights, moms ranting - how can anyone decide in that situation. I know I cannot when so many things are going around. I would like her to pontificate and think with clarity.
Dhruv in his fashion when he found out the truth went to apologise but no one knows that and I know if Tara had known that even the dad's pointing would not have made any difference. Dhruv knows that too, he also knows how she is and what people are like in 17th century. That is why he is not blaming her. He knows it is the curse's doing. Dhruv is smarter than Tara and has better cognitive thinking. Tara is one dimensional, she relies entirely on god and thinks whatever happens is her fate whereas both Mahavir and Dhruv don't think like that, they both look for ways.
Anyway, I think if I look at it from a completely dispassionate view point it makes sense. Not much, but it does. Lets hope the new guy is the positive twist that Mahavir was blabbering on in his interviews and everything is made right because my quota of twists, turns, sadness, crying, and endless tears is full for the next 12 months. I want at least two weeks of happiness then get them married and then if they want to give me even saas bahu I will take it. Anything but prison prison, I don't want that.
