She was in the first one and she is clearly not pleased with being swapped. She said something in the lines of "doesn't make sense" when asked about Ananya taking over.

The trailer does show some continuity from the first one's events, but maybe not because the people of mathura have always known Karam can do both voices and Abhishek Banerjee's character was hindu in the first one (literally played Ananya's bro), ismein he is a Muslim (I think)

But phirbhi, they could have continued with the same cast in a different universe/timeline and it would have looked much better than pastel face here (I tried watching the songs for Ayushmann, nahi ho paaya)

Also, KA and Nushrat in Akaash Vaani>>> their chemistry was beautiful 🤌

I loved the film akaash vaani. Everyone should watch it ! The director’s only good film.
