So, will we see Jasprit Bumrah's much anticipated return to international cricket today or spend the day weather-watching? That is the big question as we look forward to the start of the first T20I between Ireland and India in Malahide. Hi, I'm Abhimanyu and whatever action we do get today from Ireland, I'll be bringing it to you along with Sreshth Shah.

A yellow alert for rain has been issued for today and it was raining earlier in the day in Malahide. The skies are still gray, so prospects of a full game of cricket look bleak, but we shall keep our fingers firmly crossed. Meanwhile, apart from Bumrah's return, the big question for India is will Rinku Singh finally make his India debut? Other questions for India include how they will figure out the issue that surfaced during their recent T20I series defeat to West Indies -- how to add more batting depth.

If rain plays spoilsport, it'll be a big disappointment for the fans.

A new week, a new series, a new captain and another new era for Indian cricket? Well, that might pushing it too much since eras aren’t ideally supposed to be change as quickly as Dublin’s weather, but nevertheless this tryst against the Irish provides a good opportunity to get games under the belt for a returning Jasprit Bumrah, a few IPL stars who had to wait their turn for national duty, and some from the Caribbean cohort who make a halfway pitstop before returning home.

And there is retribution to be had, especially after a surprising series defeat to West Indies earlier in the month. The Indian fans wouldn’t want any further hiccups, and hopefully there will be no more injury worries for Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah is set to play his first international match in 11 months. The pace spearhead is relaxed ahead of his India comeback, but said that he is "not holding back" as he prepares for the ODI World Cup later this year. He also said he is not carrying any baggage or pressure of expectation as he gears up to play again.

Hosts Ireland made light work of the T20 World Cup European Qualifier games, winning all but two of their games - losing to Scotland and having a game against Germany washed out.

This, however, will be a totally different beast, but nothing that the likes of Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie, Josh Little haven’t faced up to in the past. They gave India a real scare in the 2nd T20I last year, and will be looking to put up a similar performance against this rather inexperienced looking team. It is a cloudy afternoon, and we could be stopped by rain in the later stages, but we are on schedule for a timely start. We’re not too far from the toss

It's official. Rinku and Prasidh will be making their T20I debuts today. Also, it seems like it's dry right now and we should have the toss on time.

India have won the toss and have opted to field

Jasprit Bumrah | India Captain: We'll bowl first, very happy to be here. The weather looks lovely. I feel good, looking forward to play some cricket. You realising what you were missing, very happy to be back. We expect nothing short of a fight from Ireland. As a fast bowler, I hope the pitch does something. We have two debuts - Rinku and Prasidh Krishna.
