Credit where credit due it's a fantastic movie,I laughed and I was also moved.Ranveer is great, the show stealer and Alia too shines.
The theatre I was in was full and everybody was having a gala time.
Not only the jokes land as intended, the social messages they wanted to send do too, that women contribute to patriarchy too, that art has no gender, that toxic masculinity also affects men negatively.
Few dramatic scene towards the end should have been better,I know nobody expects realistic from kjo movies but Alia's styling given her character bothered me,it was like sidM in Soty all over again,in dhindora baaje alia got justifiably trashed here but ranveer's hand positions too were so off.
Dharmendra-Shabana's track wasn't something I was entirely comfortable with but I was trying😆
I wondered if the movie played to stereotypes specially about punjabis and it did,but it did show that a Bengali family too could have its share of toxicity n abuse beneath the veneer of "culture"
But again stereotyping can't be excused, and punjabis too have culture, poetry etc
But overall a great, such fun viewing.
