I don't think you understand what whitewashing means here. Abhi has not been whitewashed even once. Every single time his mistakes have been exposed and talked about in the show and he has gone through some kind of redemption/realization arc where he finally apologizes and accepts his mistakes.
Arohi is whitewashed cause they haven't shown her or anyone discussing her mistakes or even apologizing for them. People have just forgiven her, and her character itself is changed from what it was without any real arc shown to us. It's assumed the arc was during the six-year leap, but that is hard to accept.
Ak being whitewashed means that no one is ever going to address her mistakes, and she herself is never going to accept that those were mistakes in the first place. Abhi has accepted his mistakes on the white day and even before that. Ak, however, is still convinced ALL of her decisions were right, including making someone else Abhir's father and hiding that secret for so many years and all the things that followed. If they simply give her a mental illness or memory loss track, then none of that will ever be addressed, and that is the issue.
