Bangladesh posted their highest ODI score against India. Fargana Hoque became the first Bangladeshi player to score a hundred in women's ODIs and then hosts made a great comeback to force a tie. And it ended with some fiery words from Harmanpreet Kaur in the post-match presentation.
Harmanpreet Kaur | India captain: I think a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly. They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but we controlled the game very well when we were batting but as I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires. My hand is fine. She looked very promising in the last game, so we promoted her to bat freely and she took the opportunity with both hands. Jemi was really good throughout the innings. She played well. Good game, lot of learnings and lastly our High Commission from India is also there and I hope you could have invited him here, but that is also fine. And thank you sir for coming here. Crowd was really amazing, they were cheering both the teams throughout the game. And games like these you need crowd support and they have been amazing throughout the tournament
09:30 Local Time, 13:30 GMT, 19:00 IST: Hello everyone and a warm welcome to the third day's play of the second Test between West Indies and India. Inserted to bat, India won four of the first five sessions to post a total in excess of 400. In reply, the hosts got off to a solid start. Brathwaite and Chanderpaul stitched the highest opening partnership for West Indies vs India since 2011. But Chanderpaul fell to Jadeja playing a rash shot. The Windies still trail by 352 runs but the positive thing for them is that there's not much assistance for the bowlers on this surface. Yes, stroke-making isn't easy either, but if the batters apply themselves, India will have to toil hard. Can Brathwaite and Co. get close to India's total? Let's find out. Action coming your way in 30 minutes...
Welcome to the third day's play of the second Test between the West Indies and India.
The game is nicely poised after an intriguing day of cricket. West Indies managed to bowl out India and have gotten off to a good start with the bat. We now move to Day 3 in this second Test match and the moving day of Test cricket is bound to be full of thrills. Both teams have a good opportunity to shift the tide in their favor and it is to be seen which team takes the initiative.
REAL QUICK: "Refreshing, encouraging periods from the Windies in this second Test. Athanaze and McKenzie looked really promising in their outings prior to international call-ups, and they have shown, albeit in brief sample size thus far, that they patently have the talent to do well in the Test arena. There is NO shortage of promise in the region, management is the key issue. And please for the love of the cricketing gods, get some life into the pitches!"
Pitch Report | Sir Curtly Ambrose and Daren Ganga: It's a bright sunny day. It's still a very hard surface. It won't play any differently. Looks good for batting. There's some wear and tear, which could pose some problems for the left-handers. There's hardly anything breaking up. Spin won't be a real factor. The pacers will have to be patient and should bowl wicket-to-wicket. The bounce has been consistent
9.40am It was an eventful day yesterday: just after Kohli reached his 76th international century, which made the inimitable Alagappan Muthu scribble this piece on the batter - he took us back in time, for just as long as he lived in the present - before Jadeja's dismissal sparked a bit of debate. The broadcast commentators confirmed there was an issue during the DRS process after West Indies reviewed the on-field not-out decision.
9.47am Curtly Ambrose thinks it is still a very firm surface, and looks good for batting. There is some "wear and tear" outside the left-hander's off stump at one of the ends, though. Ambrose feels the pitch will not change significantly as the match progresses.
