I think she understands English she just doesn’t know the concept of text. She doesn’t know that when someone calls and the opposite person doesn’t answer one can and infact should leave a text to convey the urgent message. This was not only the message gets delivered but then one can rightly say the opposite person was wrong and didn’t respond. Not answering calls doesn’t mean one is avoiding you but not responding to a text after reading is does.
