That is the thing. What he ‘did’ to Khushi after the lavanya episode was immediately lawyer up and protect her assets. He wanted to talk to her the very same day. No ignoring for the whole month would have happened then, Khushi would have known immediately.
The one absolutely selfish thing he did was wait for his family. And even then he knows it’s his own hell to live with that information for another one and a half months. He really did want to tell Khushi to confess his sins and feel light. He himself said “he would break her heart so he could breath”.
And when Khushi agrees, he tells Akash that he needed to tell someone since he can’t tell Khushi. He was feeling that guilty he needed at least some one close to him know.
Now why did he ask Aman that is because that’s not how he works and it is highly illegal as well. Besides, he didn’t even think there was any need for Aman to go launch an investigation of his own. He thanked Aman for doing what is never required of him. None of it is care for Lavanya. He is just a decent man.
And as I said. La wanting a genuine relationship was a taunt to Manali. He followed it up with the line that ‘it must suck not being able to control one aspect of Lavanya’s life’ . He is happy seeing that it makes Manali mad.
He did the same to la in new year party. He was being petty and angry. He belittled Lavanya by saying ‘you can’t breath without her permission’. It states that clearly in the chapter why he wanted to say that.
I will agree to one point. In all of this mess, Khushi was hurt tremendously. It was his inability to deal with the guilt that resulted in him royally ignoring her. Yes he was dealing with a lot, but this is the truth that Khushi was hurt because of all this. His intentions may have been Nobel. But they don’t lessen Khushi’s pain.
I hear you Arpita. Even after the reveal and especially knowing how much he cares/loves for Khushi..i do not understand his reactions to the two incidents I wrote about.
Yes to why he lawyered up. I did state that in my comment and agreed
I really liked how he dealt with the pregnancy. Fitted with his characterization (BTW my comment about accompaniment to doctor was misquoted. I questioned La asking him..not why he went there ! It again fits his characterization of taking ownership.).
He not investigating also I understand..he is a decent man who believed and took responsibility. He apologized to La ignoring her comment that she came on to him.
..Or concentrating on Khushi's welfare rather than going after Manali. he had his priorities right.
But I do not understand his reaction to Aman. Or he taking a dig at Manali..which sounded to me as supporting La.
Anyway thank you for the clarification and what you were trying to put across.
