Why isn't Nilesh using a solar-powered calculator like the one I had thirty years ago? I never replaced its dead battery; I just made sure to use it in a well-lit area.

and we would chuck it in sun when the battery died to recharge the cells fully 😆

Who uses calcs other than shop-owners & student most of the time? Phone has a handy lik inbuilt calc 😆 even the old Nokia 5500 used to have a calc.

Definately a "matlab kuchh bhi" moment 😆

When I checked the Wikipedia information for the Kannada original, I found the circumstances of the marriage unappealing. If the synopsis had revealed how soon the leads marry and for what reason, I would have criticised Colors Marathi for divulging those spoilers too.

A synopsis should describe characters vividly and the plot mysteriously: "Samar's ambition to serve his community as MLA draws him to Kasturi, who has a knack for solving problems. Kasturi works hard for her brother Nilesh to succeed. When Nilesh follows Samar into danger, will Kasturi regret trusting Samar?"

Usually for serials, they will break the suspense, unlike movies. Having said that, though the circumstances how the marriage will happen will be unappealing, it shows to what extent Samar will go in order to be a MLA. At the same time they are also showing many are trying to sabotage him. So for now it looks like he can kill Nilesh to achieve the ambition. But is he that wicked? So I think the suspense is - they want us to keep guessing is Samar good or bad.

How dysfunctional is the Kuber family? Other than the mother and Abha, they're all selfish and ego-driven.

Bhaskar completely ignored his daughter Abha the whole time they were eating lunch at the same table. He ignored his wife Urmila as they passed each other at the door. He slept through the morning - was that truly due to a workshop until late at night or maybe a bad habit?

The father discouraged Bhaskar from proving his abilities at the family business, called Bhaskar's ideas embarrassing, and insisted that Samar has to train to take it over. He pointed out every imaginary offence with sarcasm.

Arpita was affectionate to Abha, but hurled insults at Jani for no reason and talked back to her mother when reminded of good manners. Are Arpita's protein diet, keto diet, refusing to eat etc. clues that she has a nervous eating disorder? Are amphetamine diet pills contributing to her ornery behaviour?

Samar was attentive to Abha, but scoffed at his father's sarcasm. Notably, Bhaskar spoke to Samar as if they suffer together, not resenting Samar for their father's favouritism.

I hope the characters will be written with more nuance going forward.

Atheist characters are rare on Indian TV, so it's disappointing that Urmila is a generic villain who splashes mud on pedestrians and says it's their fault, shouts at her child Abha for wanting to help her grandmother with "worthless activities" like pūjā, and doesn't pay her bills.

What Urmila said to her mother-in-law was correct: you carry on practising your faith; I've never obstructed you, but I won't be at your pūjā. Urmila gave sensible advice to Abha: concentrate on studies and you won't even need Bāppā. However, Urmila's disrespectful tone and raised voice are supposed to make her principles seem unreasonable.

Samar reacted as if he might hit Urmila someday - just for flouting his mother's religious imposition?

Is Samar a religious fanatic? Does he manipulate his constituents by appealing to religious fervour?

Samar didn't change his clothes between pulling the wagon and celebrating Nānārāva's birthday.

The perspiration from his exertion had probably ripened with skin bacteria fermenting it into buttery-smelling butanedione by the time he sat down for lunch, still without changing his clothes as far as I could tell.

Only at almost 5:30 pm, Samar went to bathe and change into sovaḷe clothes for the Satya-Nārāyaṇa-pūjā.

After that, he changed into new jeans, shirt and vest to send off Kasturi.

Again, he changed into darker pants and a sweater to talk to Rajesh, who had also made a change of clothes.

What does it all mean?

Samar delivered water to Kasturi's neighbourhood, but when he wanted to wash the tea stains off his clothes, he followed her into the washroom and tried to find the water tap. Kasturi had to remind him that they haul in water from the communal tap, which isn't in service right now.

This scene beautifully highlighted how far apart Samar's and Kasturi's worlds are. Samar thinks of problems as opportunities to play hero. For Kasturi, problems like having to fetch water are facts of daily life.

Why does Samar insist on speaking English to Kasturi? He thinks everyone understands "Chill!" but Kasturi doesn't even have a fridge.

I like the scene in Kasturi's house. First it seems like Samar likes her but the surprise is Samar planned the visit and he is definitely up to something.

Meanwhile, it looks like Kasturi is impressed with him. The one thing i find it funny is her younger sister in the orange shirt since the show started, poor her 😆

Well, Samar was thinking of Kasturi while driving, and he had that conversation with Rajesh about the contrast between Kasturi's loving and generous family and the each-for-oneself members of the Kuber family.

Both of Samar's parents have one-sided views of his marriage. The father thinks that a business-running wife would inspire Samar to run the family business. The mother thinks that if Samar's wife likes to look after business, who will look after the house and family? Neither of them considers that Samar might make a good househusband for Sakshi. He is already a nurturing uncle to Abha, so he would take his own children to school, pick them up, and make sure they balanced homework with imaginative self-expression. He has the people skills to make pleasant conversation whenever his wife wants to host a business dinner.

I am liking the friendship between Samar and Rajesh. Rajesh isn't a foil for Samar; their personalities and values are very similar and they take turns reminding each other to stay focussed.

If the story writers are good, they'll give Rajesh his own life, with Samar as his supportive friend, so that it's not always Rajesh's identity revolving around Samar.

Samar is feeling annoyed with Rajesh for always taking photos that include Kasturi.
