Arpita, you are a master of plot twists. I had so little faith in Arnav that I thought he would go to Dubai. He earned a few points on his road to redemption. But just a very few. I still have very little sympathy for him because for me his adultery is so abhorrent plus he was going to use it to get Khushi to consent to the divorce if she balked.

And she did know about Lavenya. Somehow she found out between the time she wrote the note and the anniversary morning when she tore off the bottom portion and left only the top portion. What a courageous woman to behave with the dignity she did when her heart was breaking. She must have known when she talked to Aman. And, what must her thoughts have been that she meant so little to him that he would plan this without talking to her. And she gave up her dream of children to ultimately be thrown out like that. Now he knows why she consented to the divorce so easily. Now we’ll soon find out the whys and hows of Lavenya and Arnav. My heart aches at the thought. And, how did she find out? Did she overhear conversations? Did a reporter from a newspaper that Manali tipped off call for confirmation? Did she find evidence? Did Lavenya or Manali tell her? Please God, he didn’t do it in their marital bed when she evidently was in Lucknow possibly tending to whatever happened to Anjali and his family. He just went back miles for me. She was tending his family!

Khushi’s now feels even more heartbreak because as she said, she always felt loved and valued by her family. Now she is questioning that. She has reached the bottom of the end. Up is the only place to go. Thank God, she rejected Shyam. Ugh! She is realizing that she has had little say in the trajectory of her life; arranged marriage, thrown into a world she is not comfortable in, thrown out of the marriage, looking at a second unwanted marriage, and then sent back to her first marriage, all without her input. And where does she fit in now? Now is the time for Khushi’s resurgence. What will Arnav’s resurgence be? Will the marriage have a resurgence where Khushi is an equal in getting her desires met and that she is the center of Arnav’s world like he was hers? He needs to make sure she has more than just a happily ever after to make up for his treatment of her at the end of their marriage. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Really did Arnav stoop so low and betrayed Khushi

If what Khushi said at the end of the chapter is true, then there is no redemption for Arnav.

Confusion number one:

While indulging in sex with another woman, whenever his wife was away, why did Arnav even think Khushi will not find out about it? It is Khushi's house and is surrounded by house help and security guards.

During his musings after the divorce plans were revealed, Arnav thought sex became a chore in the last few days between him and Khushi. What did he expect, when he was already having an affair with Lavanya? Actually that should have alerted him that Khushi knows about his affair.

Not adding up.

Confusion number two:

If we go by incidents in 2005 , 2006, 2009 and 2014 Khushi and Arnav loved each other.

Khushi was learning from Arnav to be independent and self respecting. Then why did she keep quiet about the affair?

I did say, she would have gone to hell and keep making sacrifices instead of agreeing to divorce Arnav. Is this one of them? In the last few days, she just displayed that she can sense crap from a mile away and won't take any crap from anybody. Then why did she let Arnav demean and belittle her for so long?

Or has she found out recently? To be precise, as recent as the night before Holi? When Khushi went for that breakfast with Shyam, she said Arnav is still her husband. I can't put it past Lavanya or Manali or both. If they are involved, then there is a little hope.

Hope for amicability to begin with. Not for a happily ever after. Like Arnav said, it should be Khushi's call.

Arnav has to accept that he had an affair with Lavanya (irrespective of whether it is one off or a continuous) and they might drift apart again. This time Payal might just support Khushi.

today this story reminded me of an old ff “pandora box” by Munchy

Amazing twists girl! Though you pushed me straight into the memory lane to cry buckets! I will not wish the situation Khushiis in to even my worst enemy, not that I have any… You depicted Khushi feeling powerless,worthless to the T…

And I had imagined many which way show Arnav might have cheated on Khushi, but this was the worst possible way! Bringing the other woman home especially where his wife had given her everything to make home sweet home, her devotion towardsthe marriage and its sanctity! Oh my god, this is something so unforgivablefor any woman, how much ever meek she might be… Surrendered Khushi is going to be Arnav’s worst nightmare now… He had gone too far to even make a come back in my eyes!

It would be interesting to know after assuming Khushi chose a kid over him, did he continue with Lavanya? Lavanya must have tried everything to pursue him in last 3 months or Manali’s actions put apermanent dent? Initially Arnav only asked Lavanya to stay low for few days during initial divorce application so just curious! How did Khushi get to know, Did Aman tell her or Lavanya / Manali sent her pics / texts anonymously? Waiting for the reveal.. Khushi should let Arnav find on his own and not tell him like last time..

You surely won brownie points with Khushi’s heart wrenching confrontation to Arnav and dialogs were super!

Khushi hurting her own hands to get rid of other man’s touch versus Arnav getting the other woman to his home belittling his wife! Stark contrast, Khushi, the epitome of loyalty versus Arnav, the despicable betrayal!

Khushi even now can choose to study or do something on her own to come out of these feelings and be herself! He is not worth it! She hasn’t realized her potential; she was able to walk away from Arnav with her head held high, showed guts to face Shyam after tramatized past with him, stood up to him and rejected him on his face! Bravo…

Now that she is back in Mumbai, shehas other ways to live life which will be less pathetic in her own words…

Arpita..what a chapter!

As I read the title, I was thinking it was so apt for Arnav. He realizing his mistakes, his love for Khushi, he would finally go and talk to her. But by the end I was crying.

How will it make a difference now. Khushi is so broken. Her self esteem is so low. The entire Shyam episode, I was feeling so angry that it made her feel so helpless, caged. She was so tired fighting all the sick mentality, her own pain. Her unsuccessful attempts of making her parents understand her. And lastly feeling like a burden and not finding love and care where she craved it.

It broke my heart when she told her mother that everyone just assumed she would be happy to go back to her husband and she didn't have a say in it, even now. Her refusal to say goodbye to her parents and lastly when she told Arnav that she wasn't anything without him by her side. How small and insignificant she sees herself. She was even choosing to go back to her previous life just bcoz she didn't have anywhere else to go to. That is just so sad and infat.

And she knows about Lavanya. How, doesn't even matter. It must be so painful for her.

It's so late for Arnav to realize his mistakes. I don't know what or how he will do now. I just wish that with time Khushi learns to be confident, and happy with her life.

Arnav on his path to redemption and Khushi on a road to find some sense of worth for herself. And life partners who are supposed to walk together might just have to go different routes from here.

I’m so glad that I was able to deliver the extent of Khushi’s helplessness finally in this chapter. I know so many readers asked that why wouldn’t she just get up and go away and I wanted to portray that she is someone who just doesn’t have a way to do so as of now. She was also someone who wanted out (I had to write that she felt relief while sitting alone in a cafe rather than at her home) but the moment that drove it to Khushi finally was when Arnav quite literally didn’t have to lift a finger to sort things out. His mere presence was enough not only for her family, but the people and the Panchayat. The unfairness of the system she has grown up in had just hit home.

You’re also right now that you’re looking at the future. What’s the next steps for Arnav and Khushi when they are as messed up as this. But as I promised, we are in the revelation part of the FF now. Khushi revealed she knew. Ball is in Arnav’s court. :)

I agree with your first line, whole heartedly.

I’ll try to answer as much as I can about your very correctly raised confusions. I will of course limit the answers to the incidents which have already happened till now.

Why did Arnav think his wife will not find out, we will find out in one or two chapters from here. Maybe the next one but I am not sure I will be able to fit Arnav and Lavanya affair in that one. But then I can let things go crazy and write long chapters so god knows :D

Yep, from 2005-2009 we have clear picture that Arnav and Khushi were very much in love. I would t say that they were just as happy in 2014 though. The fights and conflicts about children, Lucknow and other things have begun. Their last ditch attempt was early 2015 when they tried for a kid after leher’s birth. But things have only gone downhill from there.

Khushi said to Arnav she needed to listen to him to be more independent. She was the one who decided to let go of her studies despite Arnav’s insistence. She chose to work for an NGO not as a professional but because she wanted to and had the means to do so (wife of a millionaire, after all). Overall, Khushi had grown up in an environment where these career milestones were not expected out of her and the only time she took charge with the dabba service, it all went to dust because of her accident. She is clearly not in a state to continue anytime soon.

About why did Khushi agree to divorce so easily. Did she do it for Arnav’s happiness or her own self respect, I will answer that in the very next chapter :)

today this story reminded me of an old ff “pandora box” by Munchy

I absolutely loved Pandora’s box. When my fever about Khushi and Arnav subsided, I realised how potent that story was otherwise. She wrote of partition from the POV of kids who got affected. It was more human, more haunting than anything I would have expected. I mean, our characters were experiencing teenage heartbreak one day and the other day they’re seeing their families and friends getting slaughtered. That story had me in tears.

Yep, our Arnav and Khushi just have so much to do now. But I know whether their roads ever meet or not, has become even more hazy. We’ll see. Adultery isn’t something that a partner can let go of just like that.
